Mcdevito75 here, Believe it or not, I use a good quality spray cleaner like Mr. Clean, a spray that removes dirt and then you wipe clean, I use the sray, let it soak, then with a garden hose clean it off. The fan motors are sealed so you don"t have to worry too much of water in the motors, still don't direct the water hose stream directly onto the fan motors, also allow the fan to dry real good, out in the sun. I never had a problem with mine useing this technique of cleaning.

The cooling fan on the peugeot 206 is situated between the front grille and ththe radiator, To gail access to the fan you first need to remove the 4 push/pin fixings that hold the upper grille panel ,then remove the 2 torx screws from either end of the upper panel (one at each end. Next the lower grille panel needs to be removed by disengaging each end from just below the headlights, these ends are held in place by clips ,and care must be taken when pulling the lower grill from these clips.Once you have both upper and liwer grille removed ,it a simple matter of unplugging the fan connector ,and removing the 3 fixing bolts , the fan can then be removed ,

Changing a serpentine belt on an E36 BMW 318i(316i)

Remove the radiator cowling. It has 2 connecting clips(arrowed in photo)

Remove these clips by pushing out the centre portion with a small screwdriver as shown below.

Lift the cowlin up and remove. Be careful of pushing it against the radiator fins.
Locate the A/C tensioner pulley on the righthand side of the enginebetween the A/C compressor and Crankshaft, and pry off the dust cover(arrowed) with a screwdriver.

3edfaf8.jpg

Loosen the 13mm nut inside and remove the belt.
Turn the 16mm bolt on the serpentine tensioner pulleycounter clockwise to slacken the belt and remove the belt. Refit the new belt to the routing diagram below and using the 1st track (closest to the engine) on the crankshaft
  1. Crankshaft
  2. Water pump/fan pulley
  3. Idler pulley
  4. Alternator
  5. Power steering
  6. Sepentine belt tensioner

If you are replacing the tensioner pulley remember that it is held in place by a reverse threaded bolt, so turn clockwise to loosen it.
Refit the A/C belt. fasten the tensioner pulley bolt by hand. Using a 10mm allen key in the hole in the pulley(arrowed), tension the belt, keep pressure on the allen key and fasten the pulley bolt with a wrench.

When refitting the fan shroud, position the shroud. It has a tab on each side halfway down the shroud that needs to locate in the radiator. Remove the centre pin from the shroud's clips completely. Insert the clip into its position and then insert the centre pin of the clip and push it in until flush with the clip itself.

How to change termostat in suzki lianna 2002

Before you begin working in here remember the radiator is very soft and bumping it will cause lots of damage. Start by getting a 10mm socket and a short extension, remove the screws and two front clips from the engine undercover, disconnect the right fan, and remove the fan assembly. Now that the fan is out of the way you can easily see the radiator drain at the bottom of the radiator. Put a pan under it and slowly open the valve which will drain coolant straight down from that fitting. Do not completely remove the valve. It will now be advisable to open the radiator cap. Now remove the hose from the thermostat housing, and remove the three 10mm fasteners. The cover will come off and you can remove the thermostat which might be a little stuck but will come off cleanly if wiggled. I would recommend replacing all the hardware and would suggest cleaning the threads on the thermostat because its and aluminum housing and steel screws with a burr from handling will chew up your engine parts. The torque value for the thermostat screws from Suzuki is 10nm, and once again clean screws are a good idea for proper fastening. Put the hose back on , install the fan and connect it, and then refill the cooling system.

How to remove fan motor

Fan

When a fan malfunctions, the problem is usually loose or dirty blades. If the fan won't operate or if it's noisy, cleaning and tightening will usually fix it. Here's how to repair a room air conditioner's fan:
Step 1: Open cabinet and locate fan.

Step 2: Clean away any debris with vacuum and soft cloth.

Step 3: Check fan blade on motor shaft for looseness. Blade is fastened to shaft with setscrew at hub of blade.

Tighten setscrew with screwdriver or Allen wrench. If air conditioner has round vent fan, tighten fan on motor shaft by inserting long-blade screwdriver through port in fan.

Fan is installed in its housing with bolts, and vibration can loosen these fasteners. Then tighten them with wrench.

Step 4: If fan has oil ports, apply several drops of 20-weight nondetergent motor oil (not all-purpose oil) to each port at beginning of cooling season. Step 5: If you suspect fan motor is faulty, test it with VOM set to RX1 scale. Disconnect terminal wires from terminals, and clip probes of VOM to wires.

If meter reads between about 3 and 30 ohms, motor is functioning properly. If meter reads either zero or an extremely high number, replace motor.

To remove the fan motor, remove the fan, the power wires, and several mounting bolts. Install the new motor with the reverse procedure. However, if the condenser coil must be moved to get the fan out, do not try to remove the motor. Call a professional service person.

How do i remove the radiator fans

First, you must disconnect the electrical connector, which is located at the top of the fan unit, on the driver side of the vehicle. Then there are 4 fasteners, 2 on driver side and 2 on passenger side of the fan unit, all on the engine side of the unit. The top fasteners are about 1/3 of the way DOWN, and the bottom fasteners are about 1/3 of the way UP. Take these out, then remove the clips on the very top center and very bottom center of the engine side of the fan unit. Be careful not to bend the condenser inlet tube while removing the fan.
