Had an intelliflo vs-3050 pump installed couple of months ago, working fine until about an hour ago, when we noticed that it had stopped. Allarm light flashing continuously, on light blinks 9 times, pauses, 9 times and so on. Opened it up, snaked it, ran high pressure water through it and seemed to relieve a blockage. Tried to restart it, no luck. Alarm lights still flashing exactly as before. Any suggestions?

There may be a partial blockage in the skimmer plumbing. If you lift out the basket, you may be able to see something there. If not, try a hose and flushing the lines.
Make sure the wear door is functioning properly also.
If this is not the issue, make sure that you have all the valves open so there is no restriction of flow.

Total alkalinity can be lowered by adding muriatic acid or sodium bisulfate. Acid may be added in doses of up to 1 quart per 10,000 gallons. Total alkalinity tests and further required additions of acid can be made every 2 hours.

If it restarts after resting then my desciption of the issue below should help you. If it is dead then that is a different issue.
I had a similar problem for nearly two years and spoke to the actual pump designer. We ultimately solved it as there was a spring valve in the heat pump I have. Any type of spring valve is a problem for the intelliflo as the pump is tooooo intelligent. When the spring opens and closes with water flow or depending on what it was designed to do) it makes the pump think that there is a blockage and it reacts by shutting off and creating an alarm.

The solution is to replace all spring valves in your pool circuit although I was able to create a work around that used a manual valve just before the spring valve to reduce the flow so that the spring would not move and thus impact the pump. Basically you need to be ascertain if there are any parts in your pool flow that alter the water flow and thus pressure at any time (ie such as a spring valve) as the intelligence of the pump will take that to be an irregularity and shutdown. This can be time consuming and I hope this helps.
