When i go to take a pciture I get an error that says card error. What do I need to do to the camera?

go to the menu button on the back and scroll down to the section that says format card.. hit enter then confirm..

Using the camera menu, format the new card. Hopefully that is your only problem.

In order to transfer the pictures to the computer you have to turn the switch on to get the computer to detect it, Do you have your manual? if not reply back and I can send you directions. The other thing is you may have not taken any pictures if you did not have it set up right.

try to read your flash card with another card reader. borrow from a friend or colleague.

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

call Fuji and tell them that you would like to send in your Finepix to see if the cheap/defective SCR chip was used in your model. If so, they will fix for free.

Lens errors (E18 errors on Canons) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
