1) Tork P47 tripper is correct tripper for 1101 timer.
Trippers are brass-colored and black-colored.
If they do not fit timer dial you might need new timer.
http://www.frontierlighting.com/find.jsp?a=1&ID=,Photo.Cells...Time.Controls,Replacement.Trippers

2) Buy new 120Volt indoor/non-weathertight Tork T1011
To identify timer for sure:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html

3) Google search Tork 1101 shows timer cost $83

4) Intermatic cross reference shows replacement is T-101 indoor/non-weathertight
Amaxon sells T101 for 43$:
http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-T101-Hour-Dial-Timer/dp/B00002N5FN

5) Raintight/outdoor: Aplus and Lowes sell raintight outdoor T-101R for $71
http://www.lowes.com/pd_29405-251-T101RD89_0_

http://www.aplussupply.com/intermatic/timer.htm

6) Cross over wiring.
Tork terminal X is T101 terminal A
Tork terminal 1&L are T101 terminal 1
Tork terminal 2 is T101 terminal 2

An electrician installed a new Tork 1103 24 hr timer for the pool pump. You can only manually turn it on and off. When trying to set the time, the dial is loose and does not stay in position and does not...

I think you have 120Volt pool pump.
Add a comment if this is incorrect since wiring information is based on this assumption.

(1) Wiring problem:
Evidence shows timer is wired in reverse (dial only rotates when pump is ON, and dial stops rotating when pool pump is OFF)
Electrician reversed the wires, but wires need to be tested.
Hot wire from circuit breaker always connects to L
Neutral wire from breaker box connects to unmarked terminal.
This will give clock motor continuous power.
Next:
Black wire going to Load (pump) connects to X
White wire going to Load connects to unmarked terminal along with Neutral wire.

Tork 1103 is SPDT timer with 3 watt 120volt clock motor that can control multiple loads and voltages, and can be wired many different ways.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/1103INSTALLOP.pdf

(2) Loose dial. The dial should only rotate counterclockwise when moved with hand. The fact that trippers work when rotated by hand says dial is probably not problem. If timer is used, and trippers skip over and do not turn on Load (pump) then order P47 replacement trippers.

Moved time pointer on pool timer to set time than read instructions moved pointer back to original spot now timer does not click on or off when it passes pins

Timer brand and model number are not shown.
Brand and model appear on inside of timer door.

Moving stationary pointer will not affect on-off operation of timer. The pointer is just reference for setting current time.
Worn trippers can cause problem.
Trippers are softer metal and designed to wear down so timer mechanism lasts for decades.

Intermatic pool timers use set of 156T1978A trippers.

I have a Tork 1101 timer and up until now has worked fine. Now it won't shut off. The mechanical on/off tabs are set correctly. It turns on and as the timing wheel comes around, the shut off tab...

If clock is rotating on time, next suspect is P47 trippers have worn down. Trippers are made of softer metal so they wear down instead wearing down the on-off lever, and that way the timer lasts longer.

I do not know how to set timer have tork 1011 24 hour timer

Open following link to identify timer, with information for trippers and replacement clock motor:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101

The clock motor rotates analog timer dial clockwise as time passes.
Trippers on the dial move lever that rotates a cam that opens and closes electric circuit.
To set current time, manually rotate timer dial until current time lines up with the word Timer located near the 5 o'clock position.
If the dial is not rotating oe keeping good time, then clock motor is bad.
If trippers don't move the lever, then trippers are worn down.

I have a Tork 1101. Please advise how to set the OFF time.

Tork 1101 is 24-hour 120Volt mechanical dial timer
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101

ON-OFF trippers are placed on outer edge of dial to set on-off times.
These tripper click on-off lever back and forth.
Trippers wear out since they are intentionally made of softer metal than on-off lever

Make sure these trippers match yours before ordering
