Got the fatal "NOT READY" light this morning...
Keurig customer service is TERRIBLE!!! First I was told they cannot help me without a serial number for the machine (which is on a sticker on the bottom and the number has been "heated" off)...aggravating!!!!!
Like some others who've posted here, I was told I should be de-scaling the machine every 3 months (WTF did they put a de-scaling sensor on the damned thing for then?!?!?) Then I was told I had to talk to a specialist technician who would call me back within 48 hours. 48 hours without coffee...are they CRAZY!!!!! Clearly they are sitting in their nice little Keurig offices with their coffee machines that WORK!
It appears from what I've read that my machine is kaput...so sad, since I really love the thing. Unfortunately I don't know if I'll go out and by another one because of the lack of customer service. You'd think they'd stand behind their products for the $$$$ people are shelling out for this things!

It is best to take it to the store you bought it from and have them fix it and watch or replace at no cost to you. Tell the store what they said to you and have them show you how to do it. If you work on it and break it you own a broken machine. Hope this helps.

You have to remove teh 5 screws from the bottom plate on the unit and they there is a small translucent corrugated hose fastened with a small ty-rep. Remove this hose and simply drain the stainless tank to the sink and replace the hose over the barb, slide the ty-rap back in place and it is EMPTY. Takes ten minutes start to finish. Phillips screwdriver and needlenose pliers are all that is needed.

Hi, Lauren..
You can download another manual here.
Cleaning any coffee brewer is essentially the same. The easiest way is to brew one or more pots of white vinegar... it'll stink up your kitchen, but it's effective at removing build-ups and mineral deposits. Be sure to follow up these "vinegar brews" with several "plain water brews" to remove all the vinegar!
Also, if your water reservoir isn't clean (open the lid & do a finger swipe), you can use a brush to clean it or - what I do - wad up a paper towel or two, attach it to the end of a long-handled wooden spoon, and use that to get down deep into the reservoir & scrub it as much as you can before the vinegar treatment.
Alternatively, you can spend $3 or $4 for packaged cleaning compounds at stores like Williams & Sonoma.
Good luck!
