Check The cables that connect to the TV. Make sure that the cable is securely connected to the console. Next make sure that if your using the Red, White, Yellow composite cables everything lined up. Yellow is video and should go with the slot labeled video on the TV or the yellow slot on the TV. Red is right audio and should be put in the labeled spot for right audio on the TV or with the red spot on the TV. Lastly white is left audio and should be put in the spot that is labeled left audio on the TV or in the white spot on the TV. If all of the cables are hooked up like so, and everything is secure yet there is still no picture, you need to buy a new cable because it seems that one may have been damaged. If there is still no picture with the new cable, then your last option is to try it with another TV. If it works with the other TV, the 1st TV your trying to put it on has a faulty composite input. If it still doesn't work on the other 2nd TV, then there is an internal problem with the Wii and needs to be repaired or replaced.
Hope this helps!

Sounds like the unit is going into a thermal protection mode. Probably something wrong with a transformer.

Is there a master reset on the wii

Instructions
    • 1

Locate the "reset" button on the front of the Wii console. Hold it down for a few seconds to reset the device.

    • 2

Wait for the home screen to appear, then hold down the "power" button on the front of the Wii until the power light turns red and the Wii shuts down.

    • 3

Unplug the Wii's power supply from the wall outlet or power strip.

    • 4

Leave the Wii console unplugged for at least five minutes. Reconnect the power supply and press the power button to turn the Wii back on and complete the hard reset.

I have checked all three inputs into the wii unit; the power cord, the sensor bar cord, and the rca cords (all three) and I still can't get the wii to come on. The wii power cord shares the same plug as...

The sensor bar cable and the RCA cable can be ignored for this problem. In fact, just disconnect them and go with just the power cable. If you are getting power to your Wii, it will display a green power light on the front when you power it on without the sensor bar or the RCA cable plugged in. (It should also display an orange light when it is off, if it is getting power from the outlet.) Take the Wii into another room with working outlets and plug it in. Attempt to power it on with the power button on the Wii, and with a working Wii remote. If neither will power the Wii on, try borrowing a Wii power cable from a friend, or purchase a replacement. If the new power cable does not fix the problem, see if the Wii is still under warranty and send it in for repair.

Wii not powering off

You have to hold the power button down on the Wii console for many seconds before it will power off completely. Try it for more than 5 seconds.

Power Outage & Now Wii Won't Power Up...

When this same thing happened to me, I unplugged the Wii power supply from the wall (not just from the back of the Wii) and let it sit unplugged for about 10 minutes. When I plugged it back in, everything was fine.
