• To fix a weed eater that won't start, check the fuel to ensure that you are using the correct gas-to-oil ratio for the weed eater. Then, you have to change the spark plug. After that, replace the fuel filter. Now, you need to review the starting process of the weed eater.

The power source comes from the ignition module(coil), Power is stepped down internally in ignition module to something between 9v and 18v(can't remember exact voltage for sure at this time).

I don't recall seeing one on that model go bad. usually it ends up being the carburetor. Or incorrect spark plug that is the culprit(If cylinder is O.K. and you have spark).

Use a spark tester and place it between the spark plug wire and the spark plug. Pull the start cord and see if there is spark to the plug. Hope this helps.

Pull the spark plug out and try pulling it over if still won't move might have seized the motor possible not enough oil in gas You can try if not to much damage done pour some kerosene or stove oil down spark plug hole let sit over night try again

Has the exhaust been damaged.? Make sure the gases can exit the exhaust, also there is a gauze in the exhaust that can become carbonized.

Try taking the spark plug out and spraying a little WD-40 in the hole and letting it set for a time. Then pull the cord slowly one time and then replace the spark plug and try to start.

Check and clean the air filter. That's always been my problem. Wash/dry add a drop or two of oil and work it in.

Try a new spark plug or checka and see if it is getting fuel

Sounds like the flywheel has come loose and sheered off the key which locates it on the crankshaft without this the timing will be out ,
