The wash tower doesn't come up during the wash cycle, so the dishes on top are still dirty

Hello. I need the make/model to help you accurately. However, if the washer has the tower that has center sections which rise when water is pumped, there might very well be debris clogging the main pump and preventing it from getting adequate water. A lot of those units have a spray arm assembly that can be removed by turning a round collar with a 2-3 inch "handle" sticking out--it looks like a "measuring cup". If your washer has this, remove this filter assembly and clean out any food/debris beneath and inside it. Get your user manual--it will tell you how to do this. The segmented tower depends on adequate water pressure to make it expand and spray--if you hear the main pump going and the tower is not rising, the pump is starving for water--hence the blockage theory. If you are unsure about doing any of this, call for service.--definitely provide the model number here so I can determine more accurate help for you! I hope I helped you and THANKS!

Maytag washer (LAT7400AAV)shuts off during rinse cycle

The machine control board is programmed to allow a maximum continous fill time of six minutes
or an accumulated fill time of 8 minutes for each full wash cycle.
If the required fill time exceeds the time limit, the washer will shut down.
This is to prevent flooding in the event there is a loose hose clamp or damaged air dome hose.
Check the incoming water lines for a minimum pressure of 20 psi.
If lower, the customer can use smaller clothes loads and reduce the pressure to 10 psi.
An alternative solution would be to change the plastic inlet screens to metal screened washers
and remove the nozzle extender found in the water valve inlet hose near the dispener inlet."

Problem with wash tower of GE GSD2200G00ww not rising up

if the tower isn't rising DURING the wash cycle it is most likely caused by one of 2 issues. 1 being too low of a water level which can be caused by low flow thru the pipes, blocked filter in the inlet valve, or a bad inlet valve. The 2nd cause can be low pump pressure due to the main food shredder screen, located below the large plastic "filter" in the rear right-hand corner, being plugged with garbage. The valve can be replaced if needed, the filter can be cleaned w/o removal of the entire unit, but if the water flow is low, you will most likely need a plumber.

Kenmore 90 Series Washing Machine. Does it have a filter that needs to be cleaned regularly. I owned a maytag previously. It had a center post that collected lint etc. that needed to be cleaned. I...

It's an auto-clean internal lint filter. Lint is trapped from water circulating through the filter during the wash cycle. During the drain cycle it's backwashed and the lint goes down the drain.
