You will probably need to remove the drive and use another computer to format it. You can buy an adapter to connect it to another pc as a USB drive and format it this way. They are not very expensive. Hope this helps.

Hello-:~) i just wanna ask why is that my transcend is unable to format whe i use to click the format windows unable to complete format will appear?? how can i format my USB

You are plugging it in, going to windows, right clicking the drive - format - quick format and its not working?

Try right clicking the drive, going to properties, and run the error checking or disk checking for errors. Windows can attempt to clear the problem.

Unable to format, partition, ins. os and boot my toshiba TE2100..

The CMOS needs to be set to first read the CD or DVD drive before it reads the Hard drive. Once your XP disk is in the drive it will boot from the CD drive and setup the computer, The CMOS is acessed by turning on the computer and immediatly pressing either the deleat key or the F! or F2 key try each one till you get to CMOS then look for boot section. Set CD drive to first your HD drive to second.
