open it up and the mother board manufacturer will be printed on the board
any mother board can be used as a replacement and if it needs replacing update it so that a later chip can be used
it is cheaper to replace the mother board , power supply , memory, chip than to buy a new computer
and hard drives are now solid state and do not have any spinning bits to fail
talk with a computer repair shop and get ideas as to how to proceed
you will probably find that with a rebuild you will save at least 25% off the price of a new store model pc and get a better unit to boot

Sounds like there is a video problem. The most likely sources are a problem with the video card (gpu) or the display itself. I would guess that it's something with the gpu due to the recent motherboard replacement. This component is integrated into the motherboard. Some quick fixes for this problem is to reseat (take out and put back in) the battery or the memory (RAM). I would recommend trying that before calling it a bad motherboard.

Mother board

The motherboard is bad, you can try taking out the battery and only hooking up the Ac Adaptor to see if the problem goes away but if it doesn't then the motherboard they replaced it with is faulty.

Actually since water was spilled on it beforehand. Take out the hard drive and dvd drive and try powering it up again just to rule out the hard drive or dvd drive shorting out the computer.

Laptop won't turn on

If you know someone who has the same laptop, try testing your battery and adapter on that laptop just to make sure that they are working fine. If not, it might be a motherboard issue and replacing a laptop motherboard would cost a lot.

If you have a geek friend, ask him/her to use the multimeter to check that the power supply is delivering the correct voltage to the motherboard.

If you dont, try to get another opinion from another place to check if they say it's the same problem.
