How To Reset Your Blackberry Smartphone
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Soft Reset</span><br />
<ol>
<li>Press and hold the <b>Alt</b> key.
</li>
<li>While holding down the <b>Alt </b>key, press and hold the <b>Right Shift</b> key.
</li>
<li>With both of those buttons still pressed, press the <b>Backspace/Delete</b>
key.</li>
<li>The display turns off to indicate
that the reset has started, and the keys can now be released. </li></ol><span style="font-weight: bold;">Hard Reset</span><br />

<li>Remove the battery cover.
</li>
<li>Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds.

<li>Replace the battery cover.</li></ol><span style="font-weight: bold;">Factory Reset</span><br />The following will delete all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. Back up
the data on the BlackBerry smartphone before proceeding. The
process for deleting all data and applications can take up to an hour to complete. Do not remove the battery while data is being deleted.<br /><br /> <br />

Note:</b> If a password is already set, go to step 5.<br />

<li>From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click <b>Options</b>. The Device Options screen is displayed.

<li>Click <b>Security</b>. The Security screen is displayed.
</li>
<li>In the Password field, press the <b>Space</b> key to enable the password. A dialog box will prompt for a password with at least four characters.

<li>Type a password. Click the trackwheel. Type your password again to verify it.
</li>
<li>On the Home screen, click the <b>Lock</b> icon. The Lock screen is displayed.
</li>
<li>Type your password incorrectly 10 times to trigger a security wipe. </li></ol>

<li>From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click <b>Options</b>. The Device Options screen is displayed.

<li>Click <b>Security</b>. The Security screen is displayed.

<li>Click the trackwheel, and select the <b>Wipe Handheld</b> option. </li></ol>

<li>Display the menu and select the <b>Wipe Handheld </b>option.

<li>Click <b>Continue</b>.

<li>Type <b>blackberry</b>, and then press the <b>Enter</b> key. </li></ol>

<li>From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click <b>Options</b> > <b>Security Options</b> > <b>General Settings</b>.

<li>Press the <b>Menu</b> key, and select the <b>Wipe Handheld</b> option.
</li>
<li>Select the <b>Include third-party applications</b> check box to remove third-party applications. Clear the check box to preserve third-party applications.
</li>
<li>Click <b>Continue</b>.
</li>
<li>Type <b>blackberry</b>, and press the <b>Enter</b> key. </li></ol>

<li>From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click <b>Options</b> > <b>Security Options</b> > <b>Security Wipe</b>.

<li>Select the appropriate check boxes to remove data and applications as intended.
</li>
<li>Type <b>blackberry</b>, and click <b>Wipe</b>. </li></ol>

<li>From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click <b>Options</b> > <b>Security</b> > <b>Security Wipe</b>.

<li>Select the appropriate check boxes to remove data and applications as intended.
