There is a focus adjust at the IHVT, but your picture tube may be getting old considering the age of unit. Replacing CRT would not be cost effective.Replacing TV would be wise, new state of the art technology.

Most RCA sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset is different depending on the model. Try each number until you find the one that works for you.

1. Hold down the MENU button on the remote and VOLUME DOWN button on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

2. Hold down the 0 (zero) button on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN button on the TV itself at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

3. Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. 4- Hold down GO BACK button on the remote and MENU button on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
Hold down EJECT button on the front of the TV set and the MENU button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. Depending on the model, one of the methods should unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET. and first of all if u dont want ur tv to turn on by itself when you dont want it to just un plug the cord and when your going to use it just plug it back on.

your vertical output ic or a resistor in the vertical circuit could be defective.

Hi there!
I think your remote may be at fault. Liquid spill or sweat from the hand accumelates on the inside over some time and then becomes sticky. Some of the buttons may be permanently activated. Then other functions won't work. Have someone check it for you or if familiar yourself. Regards, JUS004
