Using Nortel Norstar ICS and I have a phone where voicemail is not working. The phone forwards to the voicemail ext but then indicates that the voicemail ext. is "not available". when I check for messages at the ext. it says "0 new 0 saved". What am I missing?
Sounds like its trying to use the default greeting using you name from the company directory. I would verify that the mailbox greeting is in place (f981>admin>greet>rec>prime>).
Is this a new or existing mailbox? if it's new, is it set up as a subscriber mailbox or an info?
When you reset the password, did you login to the problem sets voicemail box and change the password? The viocemail will not accept messages with a default password.
The problem set does have a new password, but the user must enter in their ext before they enter their password (i.e.Voicemail>2221234> where 222 is the ext and 1234 is the pw). Other extensions can just press Voicemail>1234>. Does that help identify the problem?

Sorry about the delay in answering. This thread is no longer alerting me to new posts. If the screen says LOG: instead of PSWD: when logging in then that means the there is not a mailbox attached to extension 222. In that case look at f983>1020000>Mbox>CHNG>222>NEXT>Ext: press CHNG and 222. press Rls when finished.

the primary greeting is in place, and the vm forwarding is setup, but when i try to leave a vm on the problem phone (from another ext in the building) it displays forwarding to the vm ext and then displays "not available". (f981>admin>greet>rec>prime) is set up and so is (f981>admin>greet>choose>prime).
Any chance of the vm ext being fried on the server?
Thanks for your help!
This is an existing mailbox. I believe it worked until I reset the password by using(f983>1020000)
