Dvd player will not be displayed on stereo as if it does not even exist. Nothing has been done to it that we know of. The car was recently shipped from Europe to the us and since its arrival the dvd player is still in the car but will not be displayed on the stereo system to be accessed.

Sometimes CD players come with a plug that keeps the reader arm in place during shipping. If you don't remove this plug it doesn't allow the arm to move, thus a code. You might recheck this. If that's not the case, check your warranty papers, you might need to use them.
In most venues, it is illegal to have a working video display in the driver's field of view; in other words, they have locked access to the display unless the vehicle is not moving.
Making a video display available to a driver in a vehicle that is underway is even worse than texting while driving.
honestly you most likely can not unless you purchase the fm modualator allowing you to hook it threw your antena and you wont be able to control it threw you deck (head unit)
couple different scenarios here...first, the previous owner may have had the dpeakers amplified and removed the amplifier before selling the car, or he may have even removed the speakers themselves. ive seen this done alot with aftermarket equipment. check behind the stereo to be sure that the speaker wires are connected to the cars wiring. also peek in the door panels to make sure the previous owner left you with some speakers. after your sure theyre all connected properly check for sound. if nothing, then you have a problem with the unit.
Please unplug Sony dvd-vhs combo from AC wall socket for couple of minutes, replug back in and turn it ON, now press eject button to eject disc tray. Let me know if problem still exist. Thanks.
Was there damage to the case after shipping? It would seem so due to display and other functions not working. Your remote has no open/close function. That leaves two options; remove the covers and try to manually remove the disk (which I don't suggest) or have the unit serviced. I found no manual release for the Disc tray, which some units have, but even if it did that wouldn't solve your problem. I would guess you have broken wiring or a damaged/cracked circuit board on the front panel.
