I would remove the batteries, wait a few minutes, and reinstall the batteries. That should reset your camera

Lens error restart camera

Most digital cameras, with zoom lenses, will generate an error, when the lens can't move freely. If you manually stop it, it will give the same error. The camera will retract the lens and generate an error. But if a mechanical error causes the lens not to operate as it should, you get the same error. The camera stops to prevent greater damage. If you can see anything that obstructs the movement of the lens, try to remove it. If you can't see anything, you have to fear something inside the camera is defect and only can be repaired by a technician. Just consider if it is worth paying for a repair, when new camera's are becoming cheaper by the day.

Lens error,restart camera

Hi,

This error occured when lens is prevented from properly extending or retracting.when pressure is applied to the lens or the area surrounding the lens while handling the camera.
Avoid applying pressure to the lens and surrounding area:
  • Do not touch Lens while shooting.
  • Make sure the camera is off before the camera is placed back in the case.
If you cannot clear the error code by turning the camera off and then on again then your device need to be repaired.

Rating the solution is highly appriciated...Good Luck.

Lens error, restart camera. How can I restart the camera IXUS 60?

Hi,

Since the camera is locked after lens error, you will restart camera removing batteries.

If this does not help, then you are in one of the following conditions:

Lens error and lens does not retract.
Try helping lens gently back in while you turn off the camera holding the button at same time.

Lens error and lens do not extend.
Restart the camera , and try gently tapping the camera back with the palm of your hand whilst restarting camera at same time.

If that does not help, then one part on the camera lens assembly is broken or out of place, or dirt inside lens mechanism caused the fault.

The lens must be disassembled by a technician to fix the problem.

If the problem is not fixed swapping batteries and resetting, then the camera must be taken apart and tested by a technician.

I dropped my camera in the sand and the lense won't close. When I turn it on it makes a buzzing sound and states ''Lense error, restart camera'' and then turns off.

The lens has probably got something in the retraction mechanism that is stopping it retracting. This can be something as simple as sand or grit or as a result of a drop or knock. In most cases the camera will need to be stripped apart to remove the lens assy before it can be repaired. This is best left to a professional camera repair shop.

Lens stays open

The lens would have to be repaired or replaced. You'd be looking at a $95-$125 repair

While turning in off softely press the lense in and out a couple of times. The lense would retract. If not fully, but most of the way, push the lense a little harder in until completely retract. If you turn it on, I should work fine. The reason the lense does not retract is most likely some dust in there somewhere. If it did not help, you would have to open the lense and clean it and close the lense.

I hope it helps,

Cannon Power shot SD630 Lens Problem

I had the same problem, tried different things but this is what worked.

I put the camera flat on its "back" (screen down, lens up). Looking down at the lens I could see that it was slightly off center. I pushed the lens towards the center and down, forcing it to close. Once it was centered I was able to turn it on and off no problem.

"lens error" on casio ex-z3

Sorry to say but a lens error actually is a problem that you cannot fix at home. When a lens error occurs, the motors inside that make the lens retract and protract were some how damaged, usually caused if the lens try coming out when you have it in your pocket or against a surface so it cant fully come out. You will have to send the camera in for service and you can do that by calling 1-800-706-2534, option 1.
