Put the pitch slider to +6 and adjust the internal preset until the top set of dots on the platter are stationary.
Check again with the pitch at +3.3 if the dots are stationary then job done!, if not then the pitch slider is worn and perfect calibration won't be possible until the pitch slider is replaced.

Technic 1200mk2 pitch problems

Check for bad solderings on Q201 and surrounding areas.
Resolder IC101 and IC201. If that doesn't help, Q2 and Q3, both 2SD637R, could be broken. If that doesn't fix it replace the electrolytic capacitors. Cheers john. Styluscity

Im not getting any sound out of my left rca, I cant install scratch live on the mac-pro, a vertical line appears on calibration...?

You need to have your RCA's replaced. If you are technically inclined you should be able to replace them your self. All you need is a soldering kit and a screw driver, and of course a new pair of RCA cables. You can use any regular pair of RCA cables. Cut them and strip out enough wire to solder them on. If you don't want to do that, then you can have it done at the shop and they usually just charge about $30.00 if that much. There's plenty of youtube videos that walk you through the process. Check out the videos by viperfrank. His videos helped me do this and change the light on my 1200.

MY Technics 1200 Rotates Out Of Control. What needs To Be Done To Fix?

It sounds like you need to replace the belt. If it's too loose, it will not maintain the proper speed.

Pitch Control Problems

More than likely the pitch needs to be calibrated. Although not very hard, I would suggest getting this done by a professional, as it does require opening up your turntable.

Here are instructions - TECHNICS PITCH CALIBRATION

If you cannot perform this, then find yourself a good technician who knows what they are doing.

If this does not work, more than likely either your pitch control, the pitch gain, or one of the IC's need to be replaced - at this stage, only a qualified service tech can help you.

Good luck!

When i turn on my technic 1200 turntable it the lights flicker and looses audio sometimes

Hi, i doubt the 2 are related as the T 1200 doesnt have a preamp, only speed control.

Maybe try checking to if there are any loose ground wires in the turntable (ONLY if you are comfortable to open)

Other than that it the sound issue might be either on the head, or on the phono outs not connecting properly.

If the speed is remaining good, then the issue is just with the LEDS themselves, maybe loose solder, if it is changng pitch as well, then dry joints in the power supply/pitch control

Hope that helps

Help for technics 1200 MK2 and 1210 Speed is too fast

On the 1200MK2 the pitch control slider is for just that purpose. Disregard the 0 setting and use the illuminated strobe marks on the platter to adjust to nominal speed. When they appear to be motionless you are there. The control on the 1210 may be a knob but the same principles apply.

Speed control issue

Not sure I understand what you need done. The 1200 has a pitch control, which allows you to control it's speed. Do you want to disable the 33/45rpm function, and assign that to the pitch control, so instead of controlling pitch, you control the RPM? This will put quite a strain on the drive circuits of this unit, but it can be done. Although, not an easy modification, as you will have to modify multiple resistors and IC's on the main board. This should only be professionally done.

Technics 1210 Mk 2 Pitch Fade Problems

You have to understand any sort of calibration meter will only tell you if the pitch control is faulty - or excessively too fast/too slow. If your units are just 'off' then that is a matter of a simple calibration of your pitch controls back to original factory specs. Also, just so you know, the pitch controls on the 1200s are not really calibrated when they leave the factory. They are basically installed, set a default setting, then shipped off. So, you'll often times have 2 turntables with sequential serial numbers, but they are both off.

Here is a tutorial on calibrating your unit back to original factory settings: TECHNICS SL1200MK2 / SL1210MK2 TURNTABLE PITCH CALIBRATION

You can also print this out and give it to the technician who serviced your units. Also ask him what kind of calibration meter, or unit did he use to test? Just curios.
