Whenever a loud sound is played the sound turns off, I can listen to it at a very low volume like around 20 with no problems, but as soon as I turn it up the sound clicks off. It sounds like a relay in the subwofer unit but am not sure if thats exactly the problem. The fan is not working so i opened it up but the way its acting i'm not even sure if thats the problem. The dvd plays fine and all speakers work, I'm thinking it is an overheating issue, I adjusted all levels of sound to its lowest setting but it still clicks off.

Sounds like your original and this sub have bad amps. The amp for the sub is not the same as the amp for the other speakers. The old unit has a dead amp and this new one is on the way out. (Pulling too much current on high bass)

I want to say I used to have this same problem. Make sure you have the right speakers wired to the corresponding wiring places on the back of the sub-wolfer. If I remember correctly I had the front and rear speakers wired into the incorrect place. It would then get to a loud point in the movie and then just cut off as a safety to not blow up the speakers (I guess). May also want to try turning down the volume and replay that point in the movie until you find the sweet spot volume level if it can't be fixed.

Hi, You have to make sure you are using the "audio out" from the dvd/surround into the "audio in" on your TV also in some case TVs will need to change the "input" with your remote to see where you connected your dvd/sur also some TVs have a switch for "n" or "off" for internal speakers and also you could have that option in your audio menu on your TV, Hope it help, good luck. This is a problem with the wiring connection. You need to check the cables make sure there are no dents or cut on them. Unplug and replug them to their designated ports.
