Are speakers turned on with volume up?
Are there batteries in the speakers of not powered by the outlet?
Are the speakers plugged into the wall as well as the computer's earphone jack?
Is windows set on mute?

I would check the above first.

I have a Roland BK5 no sound in speakers or headphones it has new ribbon cables everything working fine except the sound

Make sure the speaker setting is set to "Normal" or "ON." If the speaker setting is set to "OFF," try setting it to "Normal" or "ON". The following may be available on your instrument. - Normal: The speaker will sound only if headphones are not connected.

The sound has stopped working on our GeoSafari LAPTOP No. 8545. Help!

Hi Lisa,
What operating system are you using?
Check that sound is enabled in both the operating system and BIOS.
Check that you have the volume turned up.
If you have an external set of speakers, try plugging them in and see if you get sound. If the external speakers use a power supply, make sure you have the speakers powered and turned on. Computer speakers almost always require power to run the internal amplifier. Computers sound output is so low that regular speakers can not be used. Also, if you have a set of headphones from an iPod or similar device try the headphones. Headphones are sensitive enough to work without power.

The sound on my firefox browser is low but when I listen to Window media player, it is very loud.

Try following solutions, if it works for you

To switch between speakers and headphones on Firefox,
make sure your headphones are plugged in first,
Right click on volume on the bottom right corner of your screen,
Then select Volume Mixer,
then double click on System sounds,
Click on the playback tab,
then you could switch between speakers or headphones, just select one and click "set default" and OK
only sounds in firefox will play in the headphones,
and windows media player will play on the speakers

You could leave your windows media player to play on the speakers while you listen to firefox videos in the headphones

If you want the media music player to play in your headphones also;
You have to change it in the media player program,
go to options on the media player, then look for playback devices, there should be 2 options speakers and headphones,
just pick one

I usually set the firefox audio to my headphones,
and a media player to the speakers

I cant get any sound I did the trouble shooting

Changing the Audio Output
To switch audio output from the internal TV speakers to a connected external sound system or headphones:
Press 1. MORE.
Press 2. 9 (AUDIO).
Press 3. until the Speakers option is displayed. The Speakers option will display only if an A/V receiver connection has been detected.
Press 4. to switch between TV and either AV Receiver or Headphones.

Check if the MUTE key is on.
• The TV's "Listen to:" setting may be set to SAP (analog program from the ANT input) but no SAP is being broadcast.
• Check that the Speakers option is set to TV to hear sound from the TV speakers. Possibly sound is being sent to one of the audio outputs for an A/V receiver or headphones.
• If using an A/V receiver, check that the Speakers option is set to AV Receiver to hear sound from the A/V receiver speakers.
Press and hold the POWER button on the control panel for 10 seconds to perform System Reset.

Dimension 4700 my headphones work fine but i cant

Are you have the headphones and speakers both pluged in? When you plug in headphones the speakers get muted. You need to change your sound settings back to your sound card if you use usb headphones. The plug on the front of the 4700 also automatically mutes the speakers.

1. Please plug in a set of speakers or headphones known to be in working order.
a. If the known-to-be-in-working order speakers or headphones work, your existing speakers are faulty.
b. if the known-to-be-in-working order speakers or headphones do not work, your existing speakers are fine, and your sound card is faulty.

Sound is working but internal speaker is not working

Connecting headphones to the system will disabled the internal speakers until the headphone jack is disconnected, at which such time the internal speakers should function again.

If you disconnect the headphones and the internal speakers are not re-activated, then there may be damaged to the microswitch in the jack. (Try rebooting after the headphones are disconnected too)

Sound still appear at speaker even when headphone was installed

Hello Again,

When you Plug in HeadPhones into the Laptop the Sound Playing should automatically Bi-Pass the Speakers and go Straight to the Headphones

-Unless there is a Faulty Input for the Speaker/ Headphone, Try Pushing in the Headphones More to see if the Speakers Turn Off

Hope this Works --P3NGYJ03
