You can try to reset your gps. To do this, press and hold the Power button for fifteen seconds. Release the Power button when device begins to start.

To take out the battery, find mini TORX screwdriver from your local electronics store and open the unit up, it is fairly logical how to replace it once you open the unit. Be careful of the flexible cables not to damage them.
You can buy replacement battery which is already pre wired for your particular model.
thanks, but there no screws in this tomtom, themodel number is n14644 unless you can tell me different bye the way it still will not start

After removing the battery you can wait a while then replace back to test to power on. If it doesn't work you can find a replacement battery to test.

Hi,
Anything done in excess is always bad. Overcharging has make your gadget stop functioning. The overcharging has resulted in malfunctioning of the IC or battery.. First change the battery and verify that the Battery and see the result... If after changing battery also you face the problem then there is a hardware failure and you have to get it serviced... Sometimes restoring gadget to factory settings may help.

Make sure your battery is fully charged...You battery may be Drained OR not Charged Properly...REMOVE sd Card first and Try.
To reset your TomTom device, do the following:
Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
Reset your device.
Press and hold the On/Off button until your device restarts. This can take more than fifteen seconds...

TomTom devices have a green LED on the front, top or bottom of the device that is lit when the device is connected to a power source and actively charging. If this light is lit on your TomTom, then you know the device is charging.
The battery in your TomTom cannot be overcharged. The battery will cease power transfer on it's own, when charged to capacity.
Recommend that you first attempt to charge your device for a minimum of 2 hours and then attempt to Reset your Device

I have just purchased a tomtom one put it on charge over night thro my computer and now it will not switch on, I have held the on/off down for over 15 secs also tried it in my car on charge and it still will not come on,p.s. the green light is on help! arthur.
