My Zyxel router has connectivity issues

My Zyxel router has connectivity that comes and goes. When I bypass the router I have no connectivity issues. If I unplug and wait a minute or two and plug it back in it will work for about 10 minutes and then goes out again.

It's quite possible your router simply needs to be replaced. If you're describing a wired connection, this is almost certainly the case. For a wireless connection it's not quite that cut and dried, but for the amount of time you would waste tracking down a problem like this, it's often more cost effective to buy a more modern unit.

I have a ZyXEL P-660R-D1 router connected to my Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHz Broadband router and I'm having a few problems. First, the internet light on my ZyXEL won't light up EVER. I am not sure if that...

First of, unplug your Linksys and go right into your ZyXEL, (you might need to run a cable) Run that way for a while, If your not cut off then it's your router. Do this first and we can go from there.

I have a zyxel wireless adaptor to connect to my computer but no set up disc the current router I am using is not a zyxel it is a thompson can this be done

Yes, this can be done.

All you might need is a driver for your wireless adapter. Go to the support site of zyxel (link), look for the correct model and download the appropriate driver.

Then connect to your router.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

NBG-419N can not connect to the internet thru router?

Have you connected your Zyxel to your cable/DSL modem? Is your access problem issue with Wireless computers? The first thing you must do with a new router is to set it up, using a CAT-5 cable connected to the router. Connect it to http://192.168.1.1 and proceed through the setup items, after logging in to the router. One of the more important items, Security, must be set up by choosing your network name (SSID) and security passwords --- I prefer using the WEP-PSK[TKIP] for its simplicity. You will need the passcode you choose whemn you try to access the router wirelessly, once this is set up. Not too much access unless this is done. Use this as a guide:

Adapter goes off when i connect Zyxel B-5000 ODU

if you go to start then run and then type in that box cmd. Another page should open that has a black backround with white text. This is what DOS looks like. If you type in there ipconfig and no 192.168.0. If you don't see any 192.whatvever come up then I'm sorry to say it's your router. This happened to me recently. If not there it could be something simple like the ethernet cable, but I do think it's the router

Zyxel p660hw and g202 problem

I had an almost identical problem and contacted Tech support at Zyxel. They were excellent and the guy talked me through to a solution. The main issue related to 'Bandwith management' which defaults to active on the router configuration. Unset all three (Wan, Lan, Wlan) and see if it sorts out problem. Because of some other issues I did have to reset the router to start with and on the wireless client I unset 'Obtain IP address automatically' and used an IP address with the default gateway set to the router address. If this does not help, I would recommend talking to Zyxel Tech Support, the consultant I spoke to was brilliant.
