I have a Magellan Roadmate 1412 and it is not working. Before it completely went out it would shut off on it's own and I would have to restart it. Now it won't come on at all. The power source I have is the car charger only. It never did hold a charge on it's own without the charger from the day I bought it. Is this unit gone for good or is it fixable?thanks

Try the reset button on the side above the plug in.

if this is the case take to a repair shop who specialize in gps repair you could try but you would end up making more damage

Providing you saved the SD card info as soon as you got it, reformat the SD card and copy the files over. Or find a friend that has the same unit and copy their files. Reformat your card before also.

Take the 1412 Gps and place it beneath the drivers rear tire, get your camera and then have your friend film the seen while you back over the Gps, then put it on Youtube. Then go buy a TomTom.
