Sure can, any standard sound amplifier can take a signal from the stereo earphone jack and amplify with fantastic results.

Just need to go to Radio Shack or Walmart, or another department store to get the right adapter (stereo to stereo, or stereo to mono) and cord.

Note the number of contacts on the earphone plug that plugs into the earphone jack. If it has three different connections on the plug, it's stereo. If it has only 2 then it is mono.

Most computers I know of have the stereo plug which works with stereo inputs of an amplifier.

So, the answer is a resounding yes.

Is it possible to connect only my Logitech X230 Subwoofer to another speaker system which has a subwoofer out as a 3.5 mm jack? Edifier R1850DB is the speaker set which I'm gonna use for that.

No because the Line OUT to the Sub, won't accept a 3.5mm jack. Logitech audio will only work as one unit, you can't mix and match. They usually make it impossible to get inside them.

I don't know how to install my logictech Z523 speakers; they are hooked up but no sound and not installed; computer doesn't recognize them and my fiance threw out the instructions so I don't know how or...

Your "line in" from speakers should be plugged into the green (output) port on the back of your tower or the headphone jack on laptop. You will need to hook the 9 pin connector from the right speaker to the subwoofer. The yellow line from left speaker plugs into port labled "subwoofer" on subwoofer. Plug your power cord from speaker system into an outlet. Turn them on, adjust volume. There is no software for this product.

It sounds like you need to define the speakers to the PC. Find the icon that controls your Sound Card and dabble with it.

Maybe its a problem with the audio drivers? MB is a ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 with Soundmax drivers. Hopefully someone can help to diagnose/ find a soluytion.

Adjusting the subwoofer volume seperately from speaker volume

You can't exactly set volume but definitely turn down the bass which lowers the sub's output. Thats all we can do i think.

Connect DVD Player to logitech X 540 Surround System

Bad connection on that one speaker, if you have tested the system with other equipment and it works thn you MUST have a bad connection INSIDE you DVD player. If your DVD had a whole channel out on your output amplifier I beleive then 2 speakers would not work so more than likely you have a bad solder joint inside system for DVD output
