    Please help me fix my problem with the blackberry pearl 8100. The red indicator light stays on when I get a message or miss call even after I clear either. I have to restart the phone for the light to go of. Can someone help me? Why is this happeneing? Is it a setting I dont know about or the battery needs changing or what?

I had this same problem as well. It was after I upgraded the OS I had the issue with my LED red light on constantly. I figured out it was the colorpearl application because it is not compatible with the new 4.5 OS.

You might have a button stuck that is constantly sending a signal. This will drain your battery as well. Wiggle all of the buttons and see if the light turns off.

Sounds like a small price of dirt/mental/ tinfoil might be acting as contact. Remove batts and with clean tooth brush gentle clean all exposed areas, gentle .

Remote control doesn't work. Small red light stays lit.
First check the remote control with a similar TV.

By keeping a MW radio receiver you can check the functioning of the remote by pressing the keys. Radio will give garble sound!

If remote is OK , TV has to be checked.

You can get an IR remote tester at radio chack or frys. It's just a card that you point and shoot at with the remote. If you do not see red flashing on the card replace the remote . If you do then call serv shop. remote reciever is bad.

How do i!
make sure the batteries are good and installed correctly. turn on device(manually) press and hold (setup) button until the red indicator stays on. then release the set up button. press and release device button(tv,vcr ect) the red indicator light will blink, then stay lit. press channel up until the device changes channel.The red indicator light blinks and stays lit.if you over shoot the code required press channel down to back track. now press and release the mute button to lock in the code.
