My lionel zw transformer wont stop the train when throttle is all the way off.

you need to adjust the trim throttle , this is usually near the bottom of transformer , (screw looking thing) this should only need a little bit , no big changes should be needed

I am trying to run 2 trains, each on it's own track and each one using it's own transformer. There is one spot where the trains cross causing both to run at once off either transformer. How do I fix

How do you open lionel transformer cw-80?

On the base of the transformer you will find 4 tamper proof screws that you will need to remove to open the case. A triangular blade screwdriver will be need to do this. Once removed the tamper proof screws can be replaced with self tapping screws.

Lionel legacy will not run more than 2 trains

see pages 44 & 45 of attached pdf to figure out your power requirements for all locomotives, lamps/light bulbs & accessories.
compare total needed to power output of your transformer, if total is less that output of transformer, clean wheels, roller pickups & track.
if total is greater than output of transformer, you need more power/larger output transformer. lean wheels, roller pickups track.

My transformer on my new polar express does not work what am i doing wrong

No power to the transformer or to the track?
If not to the track, make sure you have the correct wire connections made from the transformer to track.
If no power to the transformer from the wall plug,
sounds like the cord needs replacement.

How often should tracks be cleaned. Engine slows down after running for a while

It depends upon how much you run your trains. Run your finger or clean cloth on the rail. If you see a dark mark your tracks need cleaning. You can also run another set of wires from the transformer to the spot on the track furthest from the transformer. You can even run a third or fourth equally spaced apart if you have large loops and long and heavy trains.

It would depend on what engine you're trying to run. The 40 watt transformer's circuit breaker will trip off if you put too large of an electrical load on it. If the engine light stays on while it sputters, the track or the engine's motor and electrical pick-ups may need cleaning. Older engines that haven't been run for a while can get stiff. Your engine may need some lubrication.

Yes. Find a Lionel repair shop or bring it to a local hobby store that does model train repairs. You can contact Lionel for a list of repair shops.

Need Z4000 transformer (trains) manual

We were able to locate a Z4000 transformer manual. Found out our problem was a connection problem with the track and not a problem with the transformer. Thanks anyway.

Not much used contacting New Bright.
If your track connector is 12.5v 2000mA (similar to mine) suggest get a Lipo 3S 3000mAh battery. This will give you 12.6v to 11v. Good enough for 1 hr plus.
With a little connection to the track connector, the system will be running.
Square connector being +ve and round -ve.
