HELP THE REMOTE STOPED WORKING AND IT KEEPS POPPING UP RC1 ON THE DISPLAY AND WE CANT USE THE REMOTE FOR ANYTHING i WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS A RESET BUTTON ON THE COMBO OR IF THERE IS A WAY TO RESET IT? I too am having the exact same issue with my remote displaying RC 1 when attempting to use it. This is the only thing the remote does once it's powered on. Oddly, if the unit is off, the remote will turn the player on. From there, it's RC 1 and nothing else. It will not power the player off. I tried new batteries (obvious, yes) and then I tried unplugging the unit, hoping it might sort of reboot or recouple with the remote when plugged back in. No such luck. My model is the DMR-EZ17.

DMR--EZ48V

Your DMR is telling you that it is set to listen for RC2 but your remote is transmitting RC1.

Two choices for a fix:

1. Put the remote back into RC2 mode by simply holding both the ENTER and 2 button for at least 5 seconds.

OR

2. Reconfigure the DMR to listen for RC1 by going into the function menus and selecting SETUP. Look for the remote control option. Change it to 1, it will currently display the value 2.

Enjoy.

Dvd recorder remote control

Anytime your unit displays RC1, 2, or 3 - the remote code needs to be reset. Other messages are "chk remote n" or "set n", n being the number 1, 2 or 3. These remote codes are set in case you have multiple products that interact w/ the remote - so when operating one device the other doesn't interfere. Unfortunately, every now and then for completely unknown reasons, they can slip out of the proper code. All you have to do (if your remote is, in fact, functional) is press and hold the number on the remote that corresponds with that which displays on the unit - in your case the number 3, and hold the Enter key at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds. This should resume operation shortly thereafter. However, you will not see any confirmation on the display as you are performing this reset. It is trial and error.
