Vinegar is very good at removing scaly deposits. Heat white/clear vinegar just as you would normally heat the water for your tea. After heating the vinegar, pour out and rinse thoroughly with water. If there are still deposits after this first attempt, use vinegar once again. Once you are satisfied that all the deposits have been removed, heat water in the tea pot 2-3 times to remove any smell or taste from the vinegar (before using for tea).

I agree with the Johnptnf comment as Vinegar is an excellent cleaner for remove scale deposit inside tea pot. In addition to this one can use dish wash soap available in the retails and online stores.

Descale bunn cdbcf15 water tank

Running white vinegar thru the line will never cause damage ......and actually should help remove mineral deposits clogging the line. If you want you can reuse the white vinegar and run it thru several times till it has completely removed mineral deposits. Once it is cleaned using distilled water will prevent build up.

Will not make entire pot???

Look at all the lines and at the hole the hot water comes out ,there might be some blockage somewhere. Also try and put a mix of 6 oz of white vinegar and then 26oz of water and stop it after it starts for about 1 minute or two the let the mix sit in the machine. Hopefully there is scale built up on the heating coil and the mix of water and vinegar will most likely do the trick . Also look for blocked hole where the hot water comes ,Check the unit out for something blocking any holes. good luck.

I don't have a manual on how to use the Sunbeam Tea Drop Hot Tea maker, where do I find how to use it ?

I had the same problem as mine was given to me without the instructions, but its very simple to use. You just open the top of it, remove the little tea basket and the basket holder. Next you want to fill the little pot to the desired amount of ounces and then poor it down into the tea maker. never go past the fill line that's etched inside cause you will be cleaning up water from everywhere! Next, put the pot on the heated plate and put the tea basket and holder back in place. Put your chosen tea in the little basket and then close the top of the tea maker. It will start to brew the tea now. Always have your pot in place before closing the top, otherwise the tea will start brewing all over the hot plate. you'll probably hear this crackling popping sound, and that's just the tea maker heating and pushing the heated water through the machine. Once the tea maker has stopped crackling and popping and is no longer dripping, the tea is ready. When you get done using it, run a full pot of water through the machine to clean it. Repeat until water comes out clear. Also clean your basket and holder and occasionally you're gonna want to clean the part where the tea drips from the maker into the pot. You just reach under and pull it out, clean it and replace it. It just slides right out and back in. Tea can stain it and build up there, so you definitely want to clean that. Be really careful because it gets really hot, and releases lots of steam if you happen to open it while its brewing for some reason. Occasionally you will need to clean the inside of the actual tea maker. When you do this, make sure it is unplugged. Make sure not to get the hot plate wet. Clean with soapy water and carefully rinse it out. there's a little rubber stopper inside at the back of it and you want to take it out while cleaning and put it back when you're done. Once you've gotten it all cleaned and rinsed out, run a few pots of water through it, and if there's nothing in the machine or pot, it should be clean. If there is, carefully rinse the inside of the machine out again, then run a pot of water through again. If there's still stuff in the machine, just keep repeating til the water and machine are clear. I cant stress enough to be careful because of the electrical parts and you don't want to ruin the machine. Just take your time and be careful. Hope this was helpful!

The internal base and tea leaf basket are tarnished from the tea. How can I clean them?

"The best tea pots are never scoured clean". Ask any retired tea drinker. The same with tea strainers. It improves the tea flavour to have a clean but not scoured out strainer. Have I saved you a job?
If you still want to and if the items are stainless steel, a scouring pad and washing up water will do it.

My heating element has white scale and build up on it

Hello, You should buy some lime away from home depot ot Lowe's. Put 2 cups inside the dishwasher and run a pots and pans cycle. This should clear up the calcium deposit on the heater. You may have to repeat depending on how bad the build up is. Hope this helps. Mike

How do I clean the heating elements in my swan tea kettle. it looks like a mineral build up on the elements that comes off when the element is hot and the minerals fall into my tea water

IF THE BUILD UP OF SCALE IS BAD YOU MAY HAVE TO TREAT SEVERAL TIMES TO CLEAN. VINIGER IS A GOOD CHOICE, JUST FILL ABOVE THE COILS AND LET SIT AND DO THIS AS MANY TIMES AS IT TAKES TO CLEAN THE COILS. ANOTHER GOOD PRODUCT IS CALLED- CLR MOST HOME DEPOTS HANDLE THIS PRODUCT IT STANDS FOR C-CALSIUM / L- LIME / R- RUST
THIS IS A LITTLE STRONGER THEN VINIGER BUT DOES THE SAME THING. BOTH WILL TAKE SEVERAL CLEANINGS

Coffee pot turns stops brewing in the middle of the cycle

Yup thats the Ticket - EASY FIX -
you have to clean the insides too people... lol.. The best way to do it is to buy citric acid crystals available from your local pharmacy. who knew huh? a couple of tablespoons in distilled water. Brew half the pot and let it sit for 30 min the brew the rest of the pot. Notice the color of your water after your done brewing. probably green from copper.. I could go into much more detail but thats the short answer... brew another pot or two of just plane ole water and bang your good go.. You should do this every month with any coffee pot for better tasting coffee..
