I'm assuming your printer power button will not shut the printer off. You can unplug the power connector from behind the printer if it won't shut off via the power button or power switch.

Performing a power reset

  1. Press the On button to turn off the HP All-in-One.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the HP All-in-One.
  3. Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet and wait for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the power adapter back into the wall outlet.
  5. Plug the power cord to the back of the HP All-in-One.
  6. Press the On button to turn on the HP All-in-One.

I unplugged the power connector, waited more than thirty seconds, and plugged it back in. The green printer light started blinking again, together with the orange warning light. Now what do I do?

HP C7280 printer: "Pump motor stalled" error

This means there's a failure in your printer's pump motor.
If you are still under warranty, contact HP's Customer Service here : http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwcontact_us.html
If not, you can try your local computer store for a check-up but they'll probably suggest a new printer.
Hope this helped.

HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one has stopped printing. Window just keep saying Shutting Down What next?

Just unplug it, wait a few seconds, then plug it in again. That should fix the problem.
I had the same problem - my Photosmart C7280 AIO displayed "Shutting Down" message all night, and would not respond to any buttons on the control panel, even holding down the Power On/Off button got no response. I was worried about a couple of ink cartridges that it had warned were low before I tried to shut down, so I replaced those.
After looking in the manual and online for troubleshooting help from HP and others, and finding nothing but a suggestion to unplug it (not on an HP site), I finally did unplug it, after first disconnecting the USB cable to prevent any trouble due to interaction with my Mac. Then I aited about 30 seconds, plugged it back in, turned it on, and it started up fine, with no apparent problem.
