How do I set the sleep timer? We got the tv from a friend and it had no manuel.

Programming the Sleep Timer:

  1. Press and release the TV key.
  2. Press and hold the SLEEP key for three seconds. The illuminated component name turns on.
  3. Release the SLEEP key.
  4. Using the number keys, enter the desired time in minutes (from 1-99 minutes). To set the timer to an umber under 10 minutes, first press 0 and then the desired number (e.g.,05 for five minutes). The illuminated component name blinks with each key press.
  5. Once the second number is entered, the illuminated component name turns off.
Tip Any key press other than the number keys is ignored. If you don't enter the sleep time within 10 seconds after pressing the SLEEP key, you must start over at step 1. The illuminated component name blinks four times and then turns off, indicating your attempt to program the Sleep Timer has been unsuccessful.
  6. The Sleep Timer is now set.
  7. Leave remote aimed at the TV. Once the Sleep Timer is set, you can continue to use the remote without affecting the Sleep Timer. However, because the timing mechanism for the Sleep Timer is built into the remote itself, the remote must be in TV Mode and pointed at the TV to activate the Sleep Timer.
Note: If the ON·OFF key is pressed, the Sleep Timer is canceled.

How do i set the timer? i use it for my alarm.

Which timer do you want to use? To use the On/Off Timer, press Menu and use the navigation arrows to select Time. Press Enter and navigate (up/down arrows) to select either On Time or Off Time. Press Enter and then use the up/dwon arrows to select Repeat. Select the frequency for the timer function (off, once, everyday etc.) with the left/right arrows. Use both the up/down and left/right arrows to set the time (hour or minute). Press Return to return to the previous menu and Menu to leave the OSD menus. For the On Time, you can also select the input source that will be shown when the TV comes on. (Select Input similarly to the above directions and set the desired channel if the source is TV.) The time must be for this to work (select Time and then Clock then Auto (gets the time from a digital channel) or Manual) and the TV must be in Standby mode for the On Timer to work. The TV will go into standby in two hours after coming on unless a button is pressed on the remote or the TV. The Off timer will override the TV On if they are set for the same time.

The Sleep timer is set in the same Time area or in the Q.menu (from the remote). Select Sleep time and then the length of time you want the tv to stay on before going to sleep. This is reset when the TV goes off.

The Shut-off time is set in the Time menu as well; select Auto Sleep. When this is on (on/off options), the TV will shut off after 10 minutes without a signal.

I hope this helps.
