After a power outage, my wii will not turn on

During a lightning storm last night, there was a power outage. Despite the fact that my Wii was plugged into a surge protector, it will no longer turn on. There is no red light on the power button. Any advice? This Wii is barely a year old!

You can try a new AC adapter. If that does not work,it will need to be repaired by a Nintendo authorized center.(I used to work at one).If you do by a new one PLEASE buy Nintendo brand. The "off" brands usually end up in some kind of problem down the road.
Good luck and agme on!

Also since a storm fried our computer,we bought a Belkin surge protector.Depending on which one you buy, they guarantee anything plugged into it.The minimum one they have I believe has 6 outlets. That is guaranteed for $50,000.No receipts needed too.

I bought my wii in singapore. the wii says 120V, but here in sri lanka the voltage is 220. without reading this i plugged in the wii. the red light came but before i activated it, i heard a BOOM from the...

It is possible that your power supply fried but everything else is still ok. Something like this could happen during a lightning storm. If you know someone with a wii, try to use their ac adapter (with a 120V adapter). If this works, then you just need a new power supply which is much cheaper.

Wii won't turn on after a power outage.

Hey, recently had a power outage and now your Wii won't turn on?

Well unless your Wii is completely fried from the storm then this should work (It has for me every time I have had an outage).

After you find out it's not getting power then just unplug the power cable from the wall and from the Wii. Normally I unplug it for about 12-24 hours then you go plug it back into the wall, plug it back into the Wii, look at the power button and if it is red/orange then it has been fixed and you should never have a problem with it again unless you keep it plugged in during a thunderstorm/power outage!

This has happened to me about 8 times and this method worked every single time!

Wii wont turn on, nothing had a lightning storm last night and now nothing

Try replacing the power cable, many times when there is a power surge and you do not have a surge protector it will burn out the transformer on the power cord. If you replace it and still nothing, most likely your Wii has been burned out by a power surge.

We had a storm and now the wii will not even turn on.

Was the Wii running while the storm was going on? Was it a lightning storm? If the answer is yes to eaither one of these then most likely there was a power surge and the power supply and / or motherboard has been damaged

My wii will not turn on

try syncing the wii and the remotes. there is a small red button on the wii covered by a small door. and as for the wii remote, there is a small red button where the batteries are located. hold them down for at least 10 seconds i would say and then try turning it on. good luck.

The electricity went off this morning...Now the Wii console power won't turn on....

Confirm the wii is plugged in (wall and wii side); if the wii is plugged into a power strip, confirm the power strip is plugged in, and that any on/off or fuse switch on the strip is set to on (may have been tripped during power surge/outage); unplug the wii for 15 minutes (seriously, 15 minutes), then plug it back in and try again.

Wii wont turn on

Reset your power adapter.......unplug it from the wall and wii console. Let it sit for about 2 or 3 min to reset. Now plug it back into the wii console and see if that does the trick.....Mine worked after that. If yours doesn't I would just call Nintendo.
