If it is the password when you boot your computer before the graphic interface comes up, you may fix it by resetting CMOS depending on your computer models. If you have another Operating System installed, you can login that one and move files over if available and backup them before you reinstall the other Operating System on your computer to have a new password.
If your computer is in a domain, you may have the domain administrator login in it if they have the power user and domain administrator account which are usually in the administrators account group on your computer and then you will be able to reset the password of your own account.
If the password is about some files on your computer then login with administrators account and take the ownership. Then you can reset the password of other accounts and set the appropriate file passwords.
