325 X-L trimmer throttle doe not operate.

If the button won't push in to open up the microwave door, one of the little ears that holds the button in place has broke off and is keeping the button from being depress.

It's possible that a few things are happening. Some recoil set us have the dog ears, the little plastic piece that flaps out and catches the flywheel bell. Have you taken that cover off the unit yet? If not, take it off, pull the cord and see if either the dog ear is broke or something else is...this is an easy fix, recoil assys are not expensive at all... it all starts with that pull cord assy. Should be 4 screws that hold on the side panel to the saw, just don't take the recoil pulley out or you may find the spring will pop free from where it sits..

Fuel issue... first replace primer bulb. Next adjust your high and low needles on the carburetor. 1/4 turn increments. If they have the plastic red and white covers on the needles, simply yank em off (they're epa adjustment limiters). Turn both to the right til comfortably tight, then back out 1 complete turn. Now start your unit, let idle and adjust the L needle until it idles right around where it should be, use your ears. ...after that, you adjust the Holy needle, the high. You do that by depressing the throttle completely and hold it, then turn the Holy needle either right or left until you hit that sweet spot in which the unit runs at full throttle and doesn't bog.

Allow the Weed Eater to warm up for about 15 seconds, then slide the choke lever to the "Off" position. Let the trimmer run for another minute without touching the throttle lever. After the Weed Eater has warmed up, squeeze the throttle trigger once to disengage the throttle lock. The trimmer is now operational.

The throttle cables aren't adjustable. Make sure the other end is on the trigger correctly and that it is routed through the handle and the engine cover correctly. Also, make sure the throttle shaft and throttle plate (inside carb) are free and easy in their movement with the throttle cable off. The engine idle speed adjusting screw may be in too far also. Back it all the way out and then back in with the throttle closed Once the speed screw touches the throttle lever (what you hook cable into) on the shaft, give it about 2 turns in. This is about all you can do. If the cable is stretched badly (rare), it would need to be replaced.

I have a ryobi hedge trimmer p2601 and the plastic handle broke. Is there a way to get a stronger handle or just a replacement?

I hope you have fresh gas and 2-cycle oil mixed up! They always seem to start strong and explosively cut on good, fresh fuel. :D

1:Choke on.

2:Push the primer bulb (rubber ball by the side of the air filter) 3 times.

3:Place trimmer on ground. Grasp the handle, squeezing the throttle fully in left hand. Kneel and give that starter a crisp, sharp tug with your right hand. If the engine "hits", then push in the choke until off. Goto step 4.

If it does not give a hint of life, repeat the tug on the line 2 more times. If it STILL does not start, check for a distinct odor of gasoline. Likely, at this point, it is flooded, proceed to step 5.

4: With choke now off, continue to depress the throttle fully and give it another sharp pull on the starter. If it starts and revs? Let it idle for a minute to warm up, then go to work!

5:With choke OFF, press and hold throttle at full. It may take several pulls on the starter rope to see any life. If after 10 pulls and there is still no life, and still smells of gasoline - time to see the Ex about getting the trimmer looked after for some TLC. :D

those are usaully under your pull start cover and if its broke you can buy a new rope but if its broke near handle i would open it and retie it to save ya money. but remember to wind spring a little to keep tension on it before pushing it through the hole for handle.

Disassemble the handle. Remove the cable and pay attention to the HOOK in the carb throttle. Install the new cable in the exact location, positioning it in the handle properly. Check for proper operation before you reinstall the handle.
