Roper (Whirlpool) Washer

My Whirlpool top load waher will not go past the rinse cycle.  It is filled with water but the dial stop after a few minutes into the rinse cycle.  The water does not drain and the machine does not proceed to spin cycle.  I have tried this in Normal Wash, Permanent Press, and Gente modes.  I turn the dial to just past Rinse; I can hear an electrical sound just behind the dial, but after a few minutes it stop and does not advance any further to spin. I'm taking a guess as to exactly which Roper product number I have

My washer is filled with water, but will not go to any other cycles. It is like the washer has completely gone out.

My roper top loading machine washes but will not advance to rinse it fills up but drains immediately after.

Hi,

Please power cycle your washer (ie unplug power for 2 minutes before powering on again). Then, you can move your dial counterclockwise (or opposite the direction that you currently turn your cycle-setting dial) by 90 degrees. Then, attempt a full cycle again. This should help somewhat reset your cycle functions so that it works properly.

Thank you.

The typical cycle is;

agitates wash cycle
drains wash water
spins wash cycle
fills to selected water level on rinse cycle
agitates on rinse cycle
drains rinse water
spins final time
end of cycle

I have a Roper washer. It filled with water to wash, but when it came to draining the water to rinse, it just stops. It will add water on rinse cycle, but it will not drain or spin.

Sounds like the lidswitch. As a safety, the tub will not spin if the door is up (open). In turn, it will not drain if it wont spin. This is a common problem with whirlpool washers. You can go to searspartsdirect.com to get the breakdown and order the part.

Roper washer stops at rinse circle

Turn off your water to the washer.
Remove the hoses from the valve at the rear of the washer and clean the trash out of the filter screen.
You have a cold fill rinse washer.
If it can't get water it stops advancing the timer.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!
