Have difficulty getting audio to sound.

Get background automatically, but spend 15 to 20 minutes when I play a moving trying to get voices in English. No problems for Spanish, etc. I have to go to Language on the Menu then select English 5:1, Then I hear the background in English, but no voices.

I do not have my troubleshooting manual.

I am having difficulty in hearing what people, especially on MKR, are actually saying as the background music is so loud.

If you are using surround sound, check your center speaker. Most voice tracks are sent to the center channel

Hi edwardm1,

If you are only hearing part of the audio from your DVD player, I would suggest you check your audio settings before seeking repairs.

Audio can be encoded to a DVD in several ways. If the audio on the disc is different than the settings on your DVD player, you may not hear all of the audio layers. For example, if your DVD is encoded in 5.1 Surround Sound, but your DVD player is set only to play basic Stereo, you may only hear portions of the audio.

Try accessing the menu on your DVD player, and look for the audio settings. If there is a higher setting available than is currently selected, try a higher audio setting. A higher setting should also be compatible with lower types of audio encoding.

If this does not improve your audio, or if you need help navigating your product menus, I would recommend giving Pioneer's toll-free support line a call at (800) 421-1404.

Thank you,
Jason,
