Plasma TV's are no longer available. Even if you decide to repair....at minimal you will need to replace three boards. Power supply, buffer boards and sometimes a Y board. If you're connecting to the TV with a unit that you believe is supposed to be transmitting on channel one, check other channels and also check for a switch to select what channel it's transmitting on
same thing happened to a tv i let my parents use.. Do you have frequencies programmed into the other channels? Use the MANUAL key to advance through the channels. If each shows a frequency of 000.0000, you need to program the scanner. It will automatically show LOCKOUT for each unprogrammed (000.0000) channel.
turn on closed captioning. this is the only way we have been able to save the tv. after a few days we were able to turn it off again and the black box was gone.
You must find the "All in one" remote. That will have a "display" button that needs to be pressed. You may just need to go to Radio shak and ask for an old one for a day to do it. Good Luck.
i had prob where my sony would switch off for a few secs thenh come back on . The solution was in menu / tv settings / sleep timer . Go into that and make sure its set to off. there are opions for off , 5 min 20 min 30 min etc... mine was set to nothing just blank.
