It sounds like the door is out of alignment with the cabinet. The latch assembly may also be damaged. Do not operate until these issues have been addressed. A door that doesn't line up properly can allow microwave energy to leak past the door.

SOURCE: keypad counts down; but no cooking

j..first, I'd check the internal fuse on this unit. It sounds like it is blown. Alternatively, you might have blown a thermosensor if you don't have a fuse. Generally, they are found clamped in sheet metal attached to the side of the oven in the control area. They are usually the size of a dime in diameter and about 3/8 inch thick with two plug ins. With the power off, have a look at it using a tester. It should have continuity...if not replace it. No tester? Remove both plugs, and connect them using a paper clip and tape up. Plug in and try it. If it works...replace the sensor...never operate without one!

SOURCE: TIMER COUNTS DOWN, MICROWAVE DOES NOT TURN ON

To actons2 - This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If the switch mount is broken, it's usually more economical and safer to add a dab or two of hot glue to the mount to secure the switch. Let it cool for about 30 minutes before using.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can download it here.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type here for $5 postpaid.

If you think the problem is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases in about a week or so.

Note to Austin8181 - Your problem is not quite the same.

SOURCE: Microwave Oven EM-804T

When I opened up the microwave cover, noticed that the door latch mechanism was worn and not holding up the interlock switch. A thick piece of tape on the worn piece of plastic and microwave was back to working (I had symptom of the timer counting down without the microwave turning on)

My microwave is working but the turn table is not turning

next time send the brand name and model number, when you go to work on a micro wave unplug it,even if you change a bulb on it,i've seen people change the bulb without unplugging it and cook the computer board,on the bottom there's a motor that turns thee turn table, drop the bottom panel of the micro wave usually like 6 to 9 screws and on some there could be an access panel just for the motor, unplug the old motor and remove screw or screws, pop off the cover inside the microwave where the glass turn table sits on and,put the new motor in and put it back the same way you took it apart,it's pretty easy to do.go here put your model number in and find part number

Why

The table motor belt may have detached which stops table from rotating and the magnetron control shuts off the heating if table does not move. Need model number etc for the microwave. It is not recommended to open the units unless you are qualified technician or understand the operation of the microwave oven. The voltages and waves can harm human body.

Change Motor but turn table does not turning?

test the following steps and fix it. God bless you

Turntable Motor

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the turntable motor might be worn out. This is a common problem and relatively easy to replace.

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the touchpad and control panel might be defective. This is not common. Test the turntable motor first.

Touchpad

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn and the touchpad has a button to turn the turntable on and off the touchpad might be defective. Check the turntable motor first, that is more likely.

User Control and Display Board

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the turntable motor might be worn out. This is a common problem and relatively easy to replace. If the motor is good, the user control and display board may be defective.

Main Control Board

If the microwave turntable doesn't turn the turntable motor is usually the problem. If the motor is good the main control board might be defective

see this steps and fix it. God bless you
First, make sure the turntable coupler under the glass dish is not broken. Second, on the control board, find the turntable relay and test for voltage. Some turntable motors are 24 volts DC, so make sure your testing the correct voltage. If no voltage from the control board, then replace the control board. Otherwise head towards the turntable motor. On OTR models, you can get to the motor by un-screwing the bottom panel on the microwave. On countertop models, there will either be a knockout or screw on access panel. Check for voltage at the motor. If no voltage, check the wiring back towards the control. If voltage, then replace the turntable motor. The component list below also shows how to test a turntable motor.
Magnetron what is problem?
However see the table for test it.

Microwave Drum not moving Problem

Remove the plug and take the turn table out of the microwave cabin. Now keep the microwave rested on the side andopen the back pannel, you can see the turn table belt drive. If this is broken replace.if not trace the motor connection and mark them. Now heat the microwave in normal position, place the turn table and a cup of water.Close the door and switch on the microwave set for a minute. Now check the voltage on the motor line marked. If present ,then the motor is fault. If not the controller board is faulty, and must be traced. Can be the relay drive or the relay. hope the other sections are working fine.

GE Above the Cooktop Oven Microwave JVM1533 Turn table does not move

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part (such as a shorted diode)

In this case, I would suspect the primary interlock door switch.

Magic Chef mco153ubf

I had the same problem. My Magic Chef, MCO153UBF Microwave had similar problems. The Magnatron, Cooling fan, Turn table and under hood lights were not working at all after hearing a pop sound under the control panel. Thought it was the fuse but the fuse was fine after testing and replacing. I checked the circuit breaker wired to my house and saw it had a break to my kitchen outlets so i flipped the switch to get back the kitchen outlets. Then I checked the microwaves Control Panel ( Printed Circuit Board) underneath and saw to traces were burnt. I soldered the two trace lines and the fixed the problem.
