If you are scanning from your pc and seeing this error message it could mean that your scan drivers are disassociated. If you have multiple multi function printers or scanners that could be causing the problem as it creates a conflict with the software framework. I would recommend uninstalling the software as well as any other multifunction and reinstalling the software as well as the additional product software.

If you are scanning from the printer it may not be set up and you would have to set up scan destinations.

I have an HP LaserJet 2420d all of sudden i have started getting the message: 49.4c18 service error. How do i correct it? Thanks, Alonso.

ok #1 run a scan on machine with your spammer and anti virus. if you get errors let the program correct and clean them. Then reboot, turn off antivirus program till completed.

ok costa try this for me remove your network cable let sit for about 5 min then plug back in reboot machine. when you connect go to hp's site down lastest version of the drivers. Then reboot machine. oh also turn your antivirus program back on after final reboot.

When scanning we are getting this error msg. Syntax error in parameters or arguments

First try to print a test page and see how it looks. If it is fine goto the copier --- are you trying to scan through the ADF or off the glass? IF you are trying through the ADF try off the glass. If fine off the glass the ADF scan/ reading problem. Check to see if you can make a regual copy. If copy is fine but can not scan through ADF or off of glass, uninstall the scan drivers and download the latest drivers from the makers website, paying close attention to the proper drivers for device and your OS ( operating system). If with the lastest drivers the problem continues you have a scanner problem and need it repaired or replaced.

Error Message

I had the same problem.Adding twain_32.dll to the Windowsfolder solved the problem. For people who don't want to search for it: Look Here.
Then you won't get this error but one saying to reinstall the printer driver. Just do it and the problem is solved.
