I doesn't return to it's closed position when the camera is turned off. You have to do it manually . Turn the zoom ring to the 55 position then turn the front focus ring fully to the left.
When the camera is set to autofocus, let the camera do the focusing. If you want to focus manually, turn off the autofocus so you can turn the focusing ring.
I had the same problem with my SAL-16105. It turned out that inside the lens the FOCUS DIFFERENTIAL RING
(Artnr.: 321020202) was broken. The camera tries to move the focus from one end to the other when it is turned on (probably to check the functionality), but as the ring is broken, focus will never reach its end-point. Thus the camera continues to try to turn the mechanics futher until either the gear on the lens ring or one of the gears inside the lens will jump, making the clicking sounds.
Another reason might be that one of the brushes ("focus brush") inside the lens that are used to signal the position of the focus to the camera electronics is damaged. (This might even lead to the mechanical destruction of the focus differential ring I think). I was able to repair my ring, but as I had to glue it, after a few months it failed again. I'm waiting for a replacement ring now.
You may have tried using the zoom ring located at the lens there are two rings one for focus and zoom. If this is not working you will need to either move the projector physically forward or backward from the screen until you can use the zoom accordingly.
Some of the Rokinon (and other ) zoom lenses could only go into MACRO at certain focal lengths- the lens you have "zooms" from 80 to 200 focal length,but is that done by "sliding" a ring forward and back on the lens, or by twisting a different ring that the one that focuses?
Yes, this is normal. Some zoom-lenses adjust the focus when zooming, to always keep the subject in focus. Those tends to be the more expensive lenses.
So you don't have to worry, nothing is wrong with your lens.

Are you sure it's the zoom ring that's stuck, and not the focus ring? The focus ring doesn't move when the camera is in autofocus.
If it's indeed the zoom ring that's stuck, you can spend more money than the lens is worth in repairs, or buy a replacement (circa 35 dollars on ebay) for dreadfully cheap. Good luck.
Just fixed the same problem on mine. This is what I did: Unscrew 6 small screws around the lens casing and remove the casing (two layers ((rings)). Jiggle the inner most lens casing while you turn power on. The lens moving (i.e., auto focus) mechanism becomes unstuck. Voila. The problem in my case was caused by the dust that accumulated inside the casing and caused the auto focus mechanism not to move freely. Good luck.
Usually this is a back focus problem; also called a flange back adjustment. If the back focus adjustment is possible on this camera, zoom out wide - open iris all the way - and adjust focus and lock position.
