Whirlpool Cabrio dryer gas does not stay lit after a few minutes.

My Whirlpool Cabrio gas dryer starts the cycle fine (gas ignites and produces heat) but after a few minutes the gas shuts off and does not reignite. The dryer runs through it's regular cycle and then shuts off with the clothes still being wet. The dampness sensor reads, "wet," through the entire cycle.

It sounds like your solenoid coil(s) might be no good. Easy fix and not very expensive.

SOURCE: clothes still damp to wet after spin cycle

You need to clean out your outlet filter; this needs to be done periodically - according to your usage. If this does not solve your problem check out your outlet pump. Plug off the wall first before you do the jobs. The machine will not drain water if the outlet is clogged. And rate me pl, if the solution has worked......

Sounds like your outside vent is plugging up. Go outside your house and check for lint build up and just pull it loose with your fingers or a shop vac.

If it's not obviously plugged from outside, feel the volume it should be significant. If it's very weak (while running of course) your ductwork may be plugged elsewhere, for example at an elbow, or the joint between a flex hose and the actual duct.

SOURCE: excess water in clothes after spin cycle

Unblock the outflow pipe from the machine that goes into the sump under the sink. (have a pot ready for water overflow) This will help drain the water. If the spin cycle is making a screetching sort of noise then it is possible that the carbon brushes will need changing. This affects the spinning if the brushes are worn.

Gas Dryer wont stay lit.

It may be your dryer vent piping. If the piping from the dryer to the outside of the house is clogged with lint (which happens periodically) the dryer cannot get rid of the heat generated by the gas burner. When the temperature reaches a certain level the high limit switch opens and shuts the burner off. The switch closes again after the dryer cools down. Check the lint filter and all the vent piping for any obstructions and clean out thoroughly. This should solve your problem. Hope this helps.

Heat wont stay on

Replace the 2 gas valve coils, check the link below to have an idea of how they look like.

No dryer heat

If the coils are bad the unit will light with flame for 4 - 8 times then all of a sudden the ignitor will glow, kick off with no gas coming threw valve. it sounds like the high limit thermostat is short cycling the flame. This is the thermostat that sits on top of the burner chamber. remove 1 screw from the thermostat and blend it upwards away from the heat. Then plug unit back in and test to see if the flame stays on longer. Click here to see maytag dryer no heat posts. Contact me anytime here. Hope this helps..

I looked through the peep hole in front of my gas dryer and I don't see anything lit.Dryer spins great, but doesn't heat up. What is the problem?

Igniter - The dryer's igniter is what ignites the gas that has entereddryer-ignitor.jpg through the gas valve. It will glow red, then when it reaches a certain temperature, it will trigger a thermostat that opens up the gas valve and that's when the dryer starts to heat the air. If the igniter has failed, the motor will still run but not produce any heat.

Cabrio model WGD6400SW gas dryer runs but not heating at all. have cleaned it.. still no heat. This happened the same day we had a service tech look at our cabrio washer. Have not had them for 3.5 yrs...

I agree. It's rotten to have someone check out your product and then have it stop working. You probably have a problem with your ignition panel. This is the part of gas dryers that gets hot. When it reaches a certain temperature it causes the pilot light to ignite. It sounds as if your ignition needs to be replaced. We did this and had another 6 years from our gas dryer.
If you're handy you can probably do this replacement yourself. If you're like my spouse and me, we found a reasonably priced professional who completed it in just a few minutes.
Good luck. I hope this helps you. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my help!

Cabrio dryer not producing heat

The pilot light is ignited by a automatic ignitor. It will need a new replacement to operate the heat to work

Kenmore Gas Dryer ignites then stops heating after ten minutes.

If the glow bar comes back on and the gas does not light, replace the gas valve coils. If the ignitor does not come back on,replace the flame sensor.
