I received my Acer 4315-2004 in December of 2007, and this week was the first time I travelled with it using the battery pac. Although the icon at the bottom right said it was 100% charged the screen dimmed after only about 30 minutes stating that the battery was about to die. What is the expected time you canfunction on batterypower only? Is my battery pac defective?

I would strongly suggest the good old battery 'hard reset'...

1.) Turn off laptop
2.) Unplug it from power supply
3.) Hold down the power button for a minute
4.) Plug it back into the power supply
5.) Power it on and wait to see if the battery icon is showing up and charging

This has resolved a few of these ghost battery issues on some of my clients laptops! If that fails, please provide the exact model number of the Gateway laptop and which operating system you're using and we'll see if we can't find another fix.

Check the Device Manager to see if the camera's driver and the device is installed. If not, the built-in camera may be defective. Try an external webcam through the USB port and verify if that works.

batteries should be conditioned before normal use by ensuring they are charged and then fully discharged for the first 3 to 4 charge cycles.

It sounds like your SMTP settings are incorrect, if you are using a POP3 service, it can connect and download your email, but most ISP Mail SMTP servers dont allow outgoing mail from another ISP.

Example, I have a charter.net email account but I have wireless hometown as my ISP, so I have to set my POP3 settings to my charter.net account (incoming messages) and my SMTP settings to wireless hometown smtp server for (outgoing mail)

Since I first turned on my unit it uses Sarasota as it home to travel. How do I change the home to be my address instead for the home location?

i had the sames problem but i just did what it said as many times as it wanted.
you have to pet it then name your dog then cal it as and avenchily it will say tech you dog it sit when youv done that you will get the go out and suplie icons
