Set both the exposure dial and the focusmode to "M" and press the shutter button. Then turn the camera off for 10 - 15 seconds. If this doesn't solve the problem, it's an electronic or mechanical error.

I cannot seem to figure out how to turn off the camera display on my D80 when looking at pics I took. Its just a display of the specs of the camera its says things along the lines of Camera: Nikon...

Simply press the 4-way switch up or down to cycle through the display until you see what you like - be it data on top of the image or the image alone. The 4-way switch is the same one you press left and right to advance pictures on the display.

I hope this helps!

Hi nrkelkar, In the D80 manual page 36 it speaks about the buffer. What you see as an error message is r with a number. The number is how many shots the buffer at that moment can handle. It is not an error message.

Will not tke picture an err message flash at top of screen

Hi anotherie14, the ERR is not a good thing. Try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is the reset switch. If that does not work then it will need to go to Nikon.

Small ants as entered inside my D80 camera

There is not any way anyone other than Nikon could tell you what it will cost. Call Nikon they will only give you an arbitrary estimate. When you send it in they will evaluate it sending you the cost. At that time you decide if you want it fixed. If you decide the cost is to great they mail it back to your. Next; what is your error message?
