I have an hp Photosmart 2575xi All-in-one Printer. I just tried to scan a picture to my computer but the printer display has this message on it when I press the Scan To button: "no Scan Option. Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot." I've tried unplugging the printer from the computer restarting the computer and restarting the printer. This happened once before and I just ignored it and came back in a day or so and it worked fine. Any suggestions for a faster fix? kristina P.

Hi. Try scaning by going into your computer and scan from the software rather than by pressing the button.

If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/alex_22751bbefa74c3d0

I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it.

Go to control panel
choose printers
look to left and find scanners and cameras
click scanner
a pop up should direct you to scanning options and will lead your scanner to scan the item

hope this helps

SOURCE: No scanning option in my HP office jet 5610 All in One

I had the same problem for months. I couldn't solve it but found a work around. Place the document to scan in the scanner.

Open MS Paint (Start/Programs/Accessories/Paint). Click on File in the menu bar, then from Scanner or Camera. It scans!

SOURCE: I am trying to scan and I keep getting an error

HP support has documentation on your error message:

HP No Scan Options in Vista

Most likely solution involves download of the "full-featured" software. If you have not already done so, try that first. (Note that HP suggests uninstalling, then downloading and reinstalling this software).

How to use my hp photosmart C5280 All in One scanner unsing mac leopard

When you install the Full Feature software for your printer, you receive the HP Photosmart Studio imaging software and the HP Utility printer management software. You can use either of these programs to scan, and can create custom settings in both.

In general, use HP Photosmart Studio to scan pictures if you want to edit them to adjust color, crop, remove red eye, etc. Use HP Utility to set up scan tasks you use often, such as scanning to a certain folder or software application, or attaching the scanned item to an email. If your printer has a display, you also use HP Utility to designate which scan tasks should appear on the printer display menu when you start a scan from the controls on the printer.

Make sure that the printer is connected to the computer. Turn it on. Place the item with the print side down on the scanner glass.

Use HP Photosmart Studio to start a scan: Click the HP Photosmart Studio icon in the Dock. Click the Scan button. Select your HP product in the Device Name list, if necessary, and then click Continue. From the Scan Profiles screen, click either Pictures or Documents. Click Profile Settings , and then adjust any settings in the Capture , Adjust , and Page Options (for documents) or Enhance (for pictures) tabs as appropriate. Click Scan. When prompted, select Yes or No to add another page to the scan. The scan preview opens then click Return to close the preview and save the scan. Type a name for the scan in the Save As box. Click the Format drop-down list, select the file format you want, and then click Save.

When trying to scan a photo from the c7280 to the computer the printer displays the following error message No Scan Options : refer to documentation and troubleshoot. This is not covered in my printer...

That's because it's not a printer problem. The scan options are in your computer in the scanning software for your machine. Before you can scan you need to be connected to your computer with scan software running to tell it how to scan, what you're scanning, and where to send and save the image you scan.

Can't scan PLEASE HELP!

SOLUTION: Download the latest version (v 7.7.2) of the HP software from the HP website at www.hp.com. Uninstall the previous software and then reinstall the downloaded software. WORKAROUND: Follow the steps below:
  1. Load the slides or negatives in the TMA and place it on the scanner glass.
  2. Open Image Zone and click on Scan Picture to scan everything.
  3. After the scan is completed, change the settings from glass to scan slide/negative from TMA. The unit will scan again and show the four slides or negatives in the preview.
  4. Click on the first picture in the scan preview and make the following changes:
    • change the dust and scratch removal/sharpness to none
    • change the resolution to 72 dpi
  5. Click on the second picture in the scan preview and make the same changes described above.
  6. Click on the third picture and then the fourth picture and make the same changes.
  7. Click Accept . The correctly scanned slide or negative images will be saved in the Gallery.

Users manual for hp photosmart C6280

The user manual (and other guides) for the HP Photosmart C6280 are available from HP at: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01150745.pdf

The tray selection is not listed well in the index, but the informaton you are looking for is probably found in pages 38-40 which deal with using the photo tray.
