You're supposed to hear water inside it. That shows that it is removing the humidity from the air. If it is leaking into the room, tile the outermost end down about 1/2" lower than the inside end.

I have a small 5000 btu window unit air conditioner made by arctic king does not have a hole for the excess water to drain.

I've repaired a lot of window units because someone has drilled a hole in the pan, to drain water, and hit the coil. Please do not drill any holes in anything! These units utilize condensate water to help reject the heat in the outdoor coil. If water is reaching the outdoor fan, it either does not have the proper "lean" or slope, or it's designed to allow water to reach the fan, and not much you can do. If it is designed to allow water to cool the outdoor coil, and you were to drain that water so that no condensate water cools the outdoor coil, this will allow the unit to operate with an excessive outdoor coil temp, and shorten the life of the compressor, or cause the unit to operate poorly/warm supply air temp. Try to give it just a little more "lean". Hope this helps!

Danby DAC10011E 10000 BTU window air conditioner not draining water? does it have some sort of self evaporating technology? I can hear water inside when I turn it on and/or off, but none draining out the...

Hello, some window units do not use a drain tube instead they use the condenser fan blade to scoop the condensate from the bottum of the base pan and splash the condenser coil to keep the condenser cool and also evaporate the condensate. Most of the time you can hear a "swishing sound"

I HAVE A 5000 BTU G E WINDOW UNIT I PURCHASED AT LOWES LAST YEAR, IT DRIPS DOWN OVER MY PATIO IS THERE A WAY TO INSTALL A DRAIN ?

a plastic pan under the unit with some small hose can divert the water elsewhere. use silicone calk to seal the hose in the hole you drilled in the bottom of the pan NEVER DRILL THE PAN OF THE AC UNIT ! use something to catch the water.. if you drill the unit, you take the chance of hitting one if the AC lines !!! there no fix'n that

Juwt bought a GE 18,000 BTU window unit from Walmart. It runs very loud outside and you can hear knocking noise inside. what can I do to fix this problem?

Did you remove all the packing materials that may have been inside the unit, before installing it? That may be the knocking noise you hear.

Our a/c is spraying water out of vents, what would cause this? It's a kenmore, 5000 BTU.

The drain hole is stopped up,remove it from the window, and it`s shell, and clean it out with a water hose,be sure to remove all debris from inside the unit, and take notice around the drain, and the fan unit.Make sure there is a good tilt on the unit tilting out side, not in,so the water will go out the drain. If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Ge window unit 5000 btu it on all day feels hot air some times frozen by the condenser

Remove from window and remove the case, and clean it with a water hose, and do not bend the fins on the evaporator ,or condenser coils with the water hose pressure, but make sure the inside, and the coils are clean. The coils need to have all dirt and debris removed .

GE gss22sgrf sidebyside water dispenser does not work, ice does

these unit have a problem with the water line freezing inside the freezer door. ge makes a tape style heater that goes inside the dispenser area to give just enough heat to keep it from freezing the water line.
you can try to change the freezer settings, warmer, clean the coils at the back of the unit and leave the freezer door open for 20-30 minute to allow the door to warm up and that will be a temporary fix to allow water to flow until you can get the heater kit.
