Why is freezer way too cold and fridge too warm when the temp display actually states the preferred temp?

Check the fan in the freezer section, its probably not working or turning too slow. Also check the fresh food cold adjustment its really just a door that gets adjusted, but it could be blocked with food, stuck or broken.

CSX22GRZAWW freezer works, refrigerator warm

Damper problem.
This ice box has a damper which is controlled by a thermostat. When the fresh side be warm that damper opens and allows cold air to enter the fresh food section. It must be gone out. it is what i would check.

On my Maytag side by side, stainless steel fridge, Model #: MSD2651KES. The freezer works perfectly, but the fridge will not get cold, but if you open the freezer it will start sending cold air to the...

Its defrost problem.--------- When you open the freezer door, then ice starts getting defrosted, because outside temperature is warm and due to that inside ice gets bit melted.--------- -------------- The working procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located. ----------- The damper is operated by a motor. Its a complete damper assembly with motor included in it.--The damper has door.Which closes and open with the help of motor. In your case the damper door is blocked by ice, because your refrigerator is not defrosting. But when you open the freezer door, the inside ice gets bit warm and it starts melting and this lets the fridge section get cool.------------------- In this case you will have to manually defrost the ice and inspect, if the problem solves. For manual defrost procedure, click the link below:-------- Click this below for more detail:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/refrigerator-is-not-cooling-properly.html ----------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Freezer works refrigerator is warm

If the freezer is getting cold and working properly, but fridge section is not getting cold, then it can be defrost issue.------------------ The procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located.--------- Try manual defrost reset procedure: ---- First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. If the same problem occurs then it's defrost problem. The defrost board and the defrost thermostat/heater is not functioning properly and it has to be checked and replaced. The defrost assembly consists of three main parts. The defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and defrost board. Any of the one is not functioning. When thermostat sense the maximum cooling, it triggers the defrost heater to start heating and this defrosts the ice collected on the coils and the system works. Both thermostat and heater are controlled by defrost board. First the thermostat and defrost heater to be checked, if both check ok by meter and visually, then its defrost board causing the problem. You can get required parts from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Fridge on top freezer on bottom the freezer works but the fridge wont cool it stays warm

Hi,
Usually when this happens it is because of a problem with the fan that moves cold air from the freezer section of your unit to the refrigerator section. Either the fan has gone bad or the unit has frosted up to the point of stopping the fan. Try defrosting (unplugging) the unit over night and then check it to see if the fan runs. If not then replace the fan. If it runs and then stops after awhile like days or even a few weeks, then you may need a defrost timer.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Refridgerator side not cold freezer side fine

Difficult to properly diagnois with such a brief description, but try the following as a good first step at correcting the problem. Reset the freezer and fridge thermostat settings at the factory default. Also, check the freezer section to make sure nothing is blocking the cold air supply vent into the fridge, do the same on the fridge side too.

Normally is the freezer is working fine, and the fridge is warm, it can be due to either a blockage of the cold air cross vent by items in either the freezer, fridge, or both, preventing proper cold air flow from the freezer into the fridge. Also, check to see if the cold air vent is not frozen or obstructed, with a fashlight (you;ll need to remove stuff from fridge and freezer to make this possible to check.

If the vent is not obstructed and you can clearly feel cold air passing from the freezer into the fridge, it is possible that the cold air vent control has ceased operating properly and needs to be replaced. Usually though this type of problem is caused by people over stuffing things into the freezer section and blocking the cold air cross over vent. Hope this helps.
