1120l Ricoh Fax Machine which can receive a perfect fax but when sending a fax the receipt part which shows a reduced page of the fax sent is completely grey and the fax received at the other end is also grey

When you send a fax (Assume a full page at 100% )...when it is printed at the other end there is now also a "header" printed showing the time, date, who sent it etc etc across the top of the page...now you also have to print your 100% information on the page therefore to do this and still keep it on a standard 11" page...the information is "typically" reduced to about 95% so that it will all fit on the page....if the other person then turns it around and sends it back to you the same thing happens so it now could be reduce by at least 10% or more.

Sent confirmation reports are available within the fax machine.
Theoretically if the fax has been successfully sent, it should be successfully received on the other end as well.
But unfortunately there is no confirmation for successful receipts, unless you are using IP based fax transfer.

Hi, found the manual on the Ricoh site, its in the 1160L manual section, its also covers the 1120L

1. Usually a "fax send report" just means that you will not receive a "receipt" or "confirmation" that the fax was successfully sent. Changing the setting to off is pretty much just saving you ink & paper. When my fax machine report is set to off, I only receive a receipt if the fax was unsuccessful. However, all fax machines are different and have a mind of their own...so your best bet it to refer to the owner's manual or call the company where it came from.

2. The only thing I can think of is maybe you need to replace the plexi-glass on the copier or do an internal wipe of the underside of the glass. Sometimes the ink can smear from underneath when faxed papers get jammed or printed.

Print fax confirmation reports
If you need printed confirmation that your faxes were successfully sent, follow these instructions to enable fax confirmation before sending any faxes. Select either On Fax Send or Send & Receive.
The default fax confirmation setting is Off. This means that the HP All-in-One will not print a confirmation report for each fax sent or received. A confirmation message indicating whether a fax was successfully sent appears briefly on the display after
each transaction.
To enable fax confirmation from the control panel
1. Press Setup.
2. Press 2, and then press 1.
This selects Print Report and then selects Fax Confirmation.
3. Press to select one of the following, and then press OK.

Off Does not print a fax confirmation report when you send and
receive faxes successfully. This is the default setting.
On Fax Send Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you send.
On Fax Receive Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you receive.
Send & Receive Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you send and receive.

If you can copy the document, then you can send it BUT the receiving fax will probably have restricted length fax pages to prevent jammed documents at the sending end causing the receiver to use all the paper. If you have access to a service manual you can restrict the length of faxes sent and received on your machine. But it may be the receiver with the restriction.

Press the User tools/counter button. Select the fax option. Locate confirmation page and turn it off.

(05) Would you, please, SEND a fax from the machine that blank faxes are being received from to a different recipient on a different fax machine all together, please?

This will enable us to pin down which machine is really experiencing the issue.
