Canon iR C6800 prints leading and trailing blank pages

Hi, one of my employees has a printing issue with the Canon iR C6800 - all her print jobs include a leading blank page and a trailing blank page - even the print test page includes the leading and trailing blank pages. Only happens to 1 employee since she starting using a different PC. OS=XP on both PC's plus she is administrator on both machines.

Have they tried to reduce the file down one or two percent smaller? Also, make sure they are not making the out put page on a eurpion size page size - A4 or B2

Hi Cogz, thanks for your reply.
I tried right-clicking the printer and selecting PROPERTIES and then i clicked PRINT TEST PAGE - so we're not working with a file as such. This "test page" printed out 3 pages....1 blank page followed by the test page followed by another blank page.

That being said...i just finished re-installing an updated driver and the symptoms seem to have resolved.

I'll post back here if symptoms persist but it appears there may have been some possible driver corruption.

There is an option in the print driver to print a separation page (typically just a blank page unless you specify otherwise) so that each person's print jobs can be differentiated easily.

This option probably got enabled somehow on her PC. Have her go into the print driver's properties (right click on the Canon in the list of printers and select Properties) and look for the option that says separation page or separator page and deselect it. Then click Apply or OK, and it should be good.

How can i fix my canon 2320 which prints a blank page yet there is enough toner?

Hi,

Please double check that the nozzle of your printer is clean. Also, please run test prints with different document to check for any change to the issue afterwards.
And you'll want to restart both your printing source (ie computer) as well as your printer before attempting another test.

Also, please check that toner that you're using isn't a 3rd party toner as printer companies have updated their software to block these from working with your printer.

Thank you.

My Canon Ir 2420 is printing a black page when photocopying or printing, what could be the cause?

If it's printing an additional blank page as well as the printed page then you should check that it is set to the right paper size everywhere. A4 is longer and narrower than American paper so a mismatch either way would require an extra sheet. This would happen even if there is nothing to be printed on that page, hence it's blank.

My cannon D680 prints a blank page after every print or copy job. the pages print fine but at the end it always feeds 1 blank page. what can it be?

See if there is an option in your settings to print a "job owner" page after each job. That's not what it's actually called but I had a similar issue with a Canon printer and found that you can have the printer automatically print a page after the job that identifies who sent the job to the printer. It's the last page so it lands on top of a finished job and separates it from other jobs sent to the printer before you have a chance to get yours. If you don't have network identifications associated with users it may just print a blank page as a separator.
