Just a guess, I suspect it is because you are now on the freeview channels which don't carry text in the same way. Has it by any chance happened since analogue transmissions ceased in your area?

Take out the battery an hour,put in back in,have the same problems.The remote is dead.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact remote.Yes,u can use the manual control buttons on right side of the tv,but a little hard.

I have Grundig - ARGANTO MW 70-510/8DPL Television. I dont have codes for Grundig TV! My remote control: One For All URC 9960 B01 (Kameleon 8 Remote Control)

The philips universal code is 0218 for the Grundig Arganto 70

However, this misses two important buttons, the codes for these are below:

134, 142 EPG
212, 220 info

some others incase your universal remote doesn't have them...

It might be an old hotel tv. Try this, it worked for me
