The phone has just lost its sound on the keypad and I cannot hear anything- no dial tones or callers voice- thru the earpiece althou I can be heard if I speak. The phone has not been dropped o damaged What might the problem be?

The earpiece on your phone is faulty or damaged. That's why you can't hear anything. Your phone needs to be repaired or replaced.

If you unplug all phones except the trouble one what happens?
Is there anything on display?
Also make sure it is plugged into a line filter.
Then, unplug you router and any other devices in the phone line and see if that does anything.

There are two ways on how you can hear the caller. One is through the earpiece and one is through the phone's speaker.

Are you able to hear the caller but just not clear or with static sound? If yes, then you have a problem with the earpiece of your phone. You can test this by putting it to a speaker phone. If you can hear the caller clearly then you should have your earpiece check. Usually this problem is caused when the earpiece is often moisted or get wet. Try blowing a canned air on the earpiece.

Hi, You will need to replace the earpiece and the mouthpiece.

The earpiece makes you to hear callers when they call, and the mouthpiece allows the callers to hear you when you call.

When you replace the mouthpiece and earpiece,the phone will be normal again.

This is not a setting problem, the problem is that the earpiece of your phone is bad that is why you cannot hear callers voice.

The speaker you put it is for the ringer, it does not have anything to do with earpiece and you can hear your caller through it.

To fix your earpiece problem because you cannot be putting your phone on speakers always because atimes you will want privacy.

To fix the earpiece problem, you will need to replace the earpiece on your phone in other for you to hear your caller. just change the earpiece as advice and you will see that the problem is solve.

the problem of your fon is the speaker, it controls the voice of the person that you are talking for and it also control the keypad tones, so replace it! buy to the cellshop a SPEAKER,

I Think There maybe a problem with the internal speakers.does anyother sound work or is it just the dialing tone and voices?
if its just dialing & voices check in the call menu that sound IS NOT muted.This may solve the problem.

if no sound works at all,maybe its is damaged but you havent noticed? Take it back to the shop you bought it from and tell them about the problem,afterall a phone that you cant ring people on is usless! Or ring your network provider to see if it may be repairable under warrenty.

dear smoothy, there is an option in your voice settings which says 'keypad volume'. You have to set it to minimum or zero. After that you will not hear your keypad beeps, and it will not effect your caller tone because it is altogether different option and has nothing mutual.
