Hi, it sounds like you have encountered a installation problem. Either uninstall directly fron your start menus, or go to control panel, ad or remove programs and uninstall from there. Re boot your computer after uninstall and the re install from disk. If this does not help come back to me, regards

I'm trying to install Gmail Talk and keep getting Error 1622

Hi,

You may follow the steps given below and check if that helps to get rid of the error message while installation of application.

a) Click on Start

b) In the start Search box type Services

c) Right Click on"services" on top of the pop up and select Run as Administrator

d) Stop "Windows Installer" service.

e) Then, delete the temp folders; there may be a file in there interfering with the setup routine of the installer. Get both:
C:\Windows\temp
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\local settings\temp

f) Finally, set your "Windows Installer" service's startup type to "Manual".

g) Reboot your system and have another test.

Hope this information is helpful.

Try this, use the internet to find a Service Pack for Office 2007, from microsoft. download it manually. and then run it. sometimes installing a service pack will address many issues and there is a chance it can fix yours. If this helps please give me some thumbs up. wish you the best cheers

Microsoft office has encountered setup contoller error

the best thing "try to reinstall ms office" because of "a problem during install", and while installing new one make sure of "customized install" process. Again if you got the same, try to use "specify" the log file "error message", I do wait for your reply.. have fine

When i log on a message........device monitor application has encountered a problem and needs to close.........this is causing problems for me as some things (like messenger doesnt work)

Try these steps:

  1. Download the printer driver from the Lexmark website.
  2. Unzip the files but do NOT install the printer using the downloaded driver. Cancel the installation that starts.
  3. Go to the C drive and open the LXK.... folder.
  4. Go to driver and then to win Xp_2k.
  5. Open the View menu and select Details. Details of the file are displayed in columns in the right-side pane. Look for the SETUP INFORMATION file in the Type column.
  6. Open the notepad file in the Name column to its left.
  7. Click Edit, Find and look for the entry that begins:

    LanguageMonitor=
  8. Add a semicolon (;) at the beginning of the entry. NOTE: The semicolon disables the entry.
  9. There are two instances of the word LanguageMonitor in the file. You will need to place a semicolon (;) before itin both places. (Use Edit, Find Next to locate the second instance of the word.)
  10. Click File and select Save. Close the notepad file.
  11. Now look for the CONFIGURATION SETTINGS file in the Type column. Repeat steps 6 through 10 above with this file also.
  12. Go to the Control Panel and select Printers and Faxes.
  13. Open Add Printer. When the Browse option appears, follow the steps for installing the printer using the INF file from the C drive.
  14. DO NOT try to print a test page as a communication error may result. First you need to change the spooler settings. Do the following:
    1. Go to the Control Panel and double-click on the Printers folder.
    2. Right-click on the printer icon and select Properties.
    3. Click the Advanced tab and select Print Processor.
    4. Change the Print Processor to Winprint and the Default Data Type to Raw.
    5. Click Apply and OK.
    6. Attempt to print a document.
Good luck..

What I did was I removed Microsoft office and that's when the problem started. I got a setup controller has encountered a problem during install.
If this is the same problem that you got then try after uninstalling going to and moving this folder 'Office Setup Controller' from this location
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12 to the desktop.
