SOURCE: OLYMPUS - VN-5500PC: After transfering

Hello.

Connect the 5500 to the pc again, and then erase any files / recordings that you still have in the recorder. Then in the bottom right corner of your screen you need to use the Safely remove hardware and then select the 5500 from the list (or removeable storage device) and then unplug it.

try it now and see if it works.

if not, let me know.

I can't find the drivers for my Olympus Digital voice recorder VN-2000PC. What can I do? I can't tranfers my audio files to my PC.

Do you need the software/drivers for the VN-2000PC or the VN-2100PC? The software for the VN-2100PC is available here: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_downloads.asp?id=1270 . Select your OS and you'll find the software.

The VN-2000PC doesn't connect to the computer via a USB port. To transfer your files to a computer, connect the earphone jack to the line In (blue) jack of the computer with a 3.5mm to 3.5 mm audio patch cable. Use a program like Audacity to record the audio track during playback. Make sure to set the Audio input to Line In. (In Windows 7, click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound. Under Sound, click Manage Audio Devices. Then select the Recording tab and set the input device.) Then set the recording device in the software as well. Click the Record button in the software and then start the play back on your VN-2000PC. You should see a flat line for a bit then see a wave form start. If the line stays flat, you haven't set the Line In device properly.

I hope this helps.

LG RH399H

I've had "Record-blocking signals detected" on my LG RH398H-M recorder off & on since I bought it almost a year ago. Also other minor problems. LG replaced the recorder 4 times with no change in problems. I became suspicious when I found that when these messages came on I could switch to any channel, digital or analog, even the weather channel, and I would still get the same message for about 5 minutes & then everything would be OK again. Recently I finally got the chance to try something. When the message came on I disconnected the input to the recorder and the message still came on! Again, I got the message "Record-blocking signal detected" with ABSOLUTELY NO INPUT CONNECTED to the recorder!!! Of course it's impossible for the recorder to be receiving blocking signals when there's nothing connected to the inputs. I wrote to LG again and threatened a law suit but so far they've been ignoring me. I would like to hear from anyone who can duplicate the above.

Can't seem to transfer files to computer

The memory is probably corrupt. Use the reformat feature from the menu. Any recordings will be lost.
