It is saying that i have a voicemail but i dont know how to check it. When i push play it says there isnt a voicemail but i know that there is one

look at hand set it should have pictures on the screen, a book for contacts, a grid of buttons for menu and possibly another of almost any shape. The grid picture of buttons calls up a menu that should display things like caller list handset setup and answer system. You need to select answer system and then follow prompts

If your phone line has voicemail service from your phone company, that's where you'll find your message. The voicemail indicator on the phone is there to let you know there are waiting messages that you should pick up. Otherwise you won't know that until you go to make a call and hear the stutter (interrupted) dialtone the phone company sends you when you have messages. Follow whatever procedure your phone company gave you to pick up your messages.

to prolong ringtunes before it goes directly to your voicemail you have to go to your callforwarding option and you can extend the regular ring to more than 30secs before it goes to your voicemail// remember go to your call forwarding settings. your other concern; did you downloaded it and saved it on your memory chip/card? you have to access the file from a computer and check if its lock or not, right click on file then check properties of the said file.

What kind of phone system? If Partner, it sounds alot like you lost all your programming, so the phone system isnt programmed to know where the voicemail is. So hwen a call comes in, the ports where the voicemail is, ring, so they pick up, but dont know what they are to do with the call, so they shove it to the receptionist.

#505 needs to be programmed, then #206, that will get you to at least asnwer incoming calls.

Need to know more, like WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM.

The "1" just means you can access it by pressing and holding the "1" Button

if you can not transfer a call to voicemail, there isnt a mailbox made. If you transfer a call and it doesnt go to voicemail, then there isnt a mailbox OR it isnt assigned to the voicemail group.

To assign a phone to go to voicemail (if there is a mailbox made)
at extension 10 or 11
press feature 00
LEFT intercom
Left intercom
#310 (auto VMS cover)
group 7
enter extension number.
If it says 2 not assigned, press "1" so it says assigned.
Press feature 00 when done.

If it still does not work, you need to build a mailbox. Will need to know EXACTLY which voicemail it is in that case.

go to menu settings call divert and divert status and check your mail box number
